Excellent podcast gentlemen. Compelling and rich.

Topic aside, I'm curious what Aaron's view is on Lego Friends.

A part of me doesn't like that Lego needs to have the "girl's version" in order to sell to girls. A building block has no gender. Beyond that though? It is one of their top selling brands so that must mean they're onto something. Being a City, Space, and Modular person the the e doesn't hit any of my triggers.

I actually think that the 'girl' Lego sets look neater than the 'boy' sets. I mean, we get another couple cars and the girls get a swimming pool. Well, I'D prefer a swimming pool anyway...

Also, why is Dreadwing being in BH such a big deal? They wanted to fill a slot, they chose Dreadwing. Plus he really isn't even a new toy. He's a blown-up Cyberverse.

so excited to see this and download it before my commute today... and then i totally thought of something i wanted to say while driving, got to work and promptly forgot what i wanted to say...

EDIT: I REMEMBERED! I was gonna say they should repaint Dreadwing into Waspinator colors (just the same way that Starscream should be done in Terrorsaur colors, like a Cheetimus Prime made ) and they should have Dreadwing show up and just die, every single episode. I would totally buy both of those toys if they were done as Beast Wars characters.

Also, Matt Frank was at Botcon last year, he made that super awesome print of Grimlock eating the Insecticons. http://thetransformers.tumblr.com/post/21387720058/matt-frank-art-botcon-2012-exclusive-print

They do have some neat sets and I do understand the business and social aspects that lead to the Friends line. I just guess I have an altruistic wish I guess that there wasn't a need to have boy's toys and girl's toys, and instead just have toys. *shrugs* No big deal in the end though.

Just seems odd that they'd go to a dead character instead of a different character.

Cliffjumper got a lot of toys specifically so it would enhance the shock factor of his death.

With BH Dreadwing? Not so much.

You forgot another "What I (sorta) built this week", Aaron. You know, because my mention count hasn't reached maximum zenith yet.

The timing of BH Dreadwing and his being an entirely new tooling makes it a very different case IMO.

Not knowing about any Japanese franchises at all: can someone tell me what the crew was alluding to in Spotlight Trailcutter?

You know another terrible re-imagining? Armada Sideswipe.

and speaking of Armada Sideswipe, he was the repaint in the Kmart set with Crystal Widow, he was named Oil Slick. the other BIAB set was Smokescreen vs Ransack (Hoist repaint)

Not completely new. His transformation is similar to the Cyberverse's.

Only the Cyberverse does the jet mode better. :/
