Dat face on the BH Prime GCI, details and all..why didn't I see it before?! the subtle cues to Smokescreen were there in our faces all along?!

 

Why? He's by the book. Surely, rule number 1 in the book of Autobot protocol states something about following the Prime no matter who he/she may be.

I can't imagine anyone believed Optimus would live for ever, as no other Prime did and they were at a time of war, a prolonged time of war. Even Prime told us in this series that should he fall another would rise and take his place--this was something he accepted a long time ago. While it might be difficult for others to do the same, they too would have to follow suit.

 

True, but then one has to look at the background of Optimus. After all, Orion Pax was a librarian before getting the Matrix. Which later went on and lost the entire planet of Cybertron. On Earth, still struggles to beat the Decepticons, while the new Elite Guard member Smokescreen shows up and takes the Apex armor from Starscream and gives them the keys. While there been times in the past that Optimus been unwilling to take out Megatron, Smokescreen nearly took him out on Cybertron with the spark extractor. After getting the keys back and making "Megatron must be stopped no matter the cost" speech, Optimus is the one that orders for them to be given back to save kids. Which gives the Decepticons the control to restore Cybertron and used the Omega Lock as a weapon against Earth, building the fort.

So if Ultra Magnus would to become bitter, who should his focus be on? The new possible Prime that helped the Autobots in a short term. Or the former one that failed them on Cybertron, couldn't defeat the cons on Earth, handed them the keys to restore Cybertron, and put all life on Earth at risk.

 

Can't you just feel the love?

Ultra Magnus accepts the loss of Cybertron--he's still an Autobot, right? While Optimus' position places a lot of the blame on him, his commanders too shoulder that same burden.

Would Ultra Magnus disapprove of Optimus' most recent acts on Cybertron? I don't know? It's hard being a person's go to guy without being able to anticipate their moves or knowing their points of view. Ultra Magnus agreed with Optimus throughout the war and he's still an Autobot, beating back the Decepticon threat every chance he gets.

I figure he's an Autobot because he doesn't like what the Decepticons are selling. Smokescreen's spark is pure. He will do whatever it takes to do the right thing. He's an Autobot through and through. Why would any Autobot want to follow him?

I don't think it has anything to do with the leader, but rather what they stand for. You either agree with the Autobots or you agree with the Decepticons.

I think the traitor will be someone who has been a way for a long time and hasn't battled the Decepticons on Earth yet:/

 

True UM was stated that "he's by the book" it would make an engaging episode if UM would have mixed or conflicted feelings if Smokes does become a Prime.

 

Well I guess we all have 4 days left until we see episode 4 so let's just wait and see what happens with some pop corn and an Arizona ice tea

as i have said since we see the cam rip of the first 3 episodes its definitely smokescreen as a prime..think some on here are going to be in denial until they see it happen before their eye's  

 

Oh No!!! I sure hope Optimus comes back.

Four days until it airs, and about a month to discuss what happens, as the series is going on hiatus after it airs, IIRC 

 

Yeah. I'm not looking forward to another break. And I'm hoping against hope this is not another cliffhanger or I might rage a little. I guess they are doing something called "Autobits" instead of episodes of Prime for a month. It doesn't sound real interesting to me but I might check it out. Maybe.
