From my reading of the -ations, Sixshot was built from the ground up to be a war machine, which is not true of anyone known to be alive pre-war. Megatron and Starscream obviously discuss him as if he is unique. Later, Megatron created the Phase Sixer category (a slight retcon, this was clearly not a "thing" in the -ations dialogue) and nominated Sixshot, Black Shadow, and Overlord. It's clear that more came along later from what Tarn has said. It's not known whether all Phase Sixers are upgraded/sabotaged, all we know is that Black Shadow is seen in a slightly different body later (cos his toy came along).
If Megatron is going to have an army of planet destorying monsters I think he'll be reasonable enought to give them all an "off switch" in case they decide to join the Autobots or try to over take him. Maybe every phase sixer has a unique one? It could also explain why the DJD are able to take them down so easily, Megatron would most certanly tell his own secret police the way to take them down.
It's a smart move, but I am wondering if the DJD know that Overlords achilles virus has been removed (and for that matter by whom). Perhaps there are multiple failsafes installed in phase sixers? To this end I would have liked to have seen how the DJD was able to take down Black Shadow. If they are operating on bad information, they are gonna be in for one heck of a fight.
Managed to get the text at least. So here's what I found when I zoomed in on the images with my tablet: Page 1: Two miners, one with orange limbs (OL), one with silver limbs (SL), two miles under the surface of Luna 2 Spoiler SL: Don't get me wrong. The axe is okay. I'm not saying I don't like the axe. But I'd prefer a drill. OL: Drill's gotta be earned. 200 years it took me to get this. SL: *Strikes something in the ground, massive flash, OL jumps back* SL: Is that what I think it is? OL: Don't even touch it. I'm calling the boss. SL But it looks like... OL: I'm serious. Frak... I'm calling Momus. *talks into comm* Sir, no sir. I'm not joking. I'm looking at it right now. It's green. Yeah. /That/ green... I think you'd better send for someone. Momus (mine supervisor, I think): Momus of Helex. Mo-Mus. I'm calling in a code 113. No. A one-one-three. ... Course I know what that means. It means you're obliged to send someone. NOW. Page 2: Mine is now quiet with a sign outside that reads "Closed by order of the functionist council." Momus: *to a one-eyed bot on the scene* I'm sorry... you are? 3 of 12: Three-of-Twelve. I'm the /authenticator/. *deploys a device which seems to scan the thing in the mine* It's viable. I will arrange for it to be excavated ahead of the nurturing. Momus: You're saying this is a genuine point-one percenter? 3 of 12: A grave misuse of statistics, but yes... the first in ten generations. Momus: Which means... there's a reward, isn't there? 3 of 12: By the power vested in me by the Functionist Council, I hereby reclassify you. You are now altmode exempt and free to pursue a path of your own choosing. OL: HEY! COG-FACE! We're the ones who found your point one whatever... what do WE get? SL: A drill would be nice... 3 of 12: Were you exposed to the first flash? OL: 'Exposed'? ... uh... yeah. 3 of 12: Then you get about six hours to live. End Prologue.
I'm guessing most everybody in this thread forgot about the Green Shimmer from the prose story in the back of LSOTW. Maybe this ties into it, what with the 6 hours to live thing.
Whenever I see green flashes now I think back to the Shimmer from that prose story so I remembered! I'm assuming it'll factor in.
I dunno. Wasn't the Green Shimmer just Springer? Not sure how that ties into this. Or am I totally wrong?
I continue to be sad that despite owning the individual issues of LSOTW and a digital TPB from comixology I've never read the prose story.
The Green Shimmer is a 'thing' but when they all saw it it turned out to BE Springer.....but given that most of them then died......
Ahhhh, I see. So you take that as bots confuse Springer's communication with some other phenomenon known as the "Green Shimmer". I read it as Springer's communications have created an urban legend called the "Green Shimmer". I may be (most likely) over simplifying as even in the prose, nothing is wasted.
The "Green Shimmer being Springer" part doesn't account for Tripwire's death in Bullets (the prose story that featured it). He saw the Shimmer and died in Rung's office (albeit a long time afterwards). My only speculation is that, in one way or another, everything will point back to Garrus 9 and what happened there. Whatever it is that those miners found very well could be beneath Aequitas. What better place to hide something invaluable than inside a prison?
Flattop was the one who died in Rung's office, and he died from Gideon's Glue--which, by the way, is green.
Ah, thanks for the correction. I wonder if green being a predominant colour in the comics will be explained or if it's simply got special significance (much like the number 113 having significance for Roberts).
"Hey, want to find the cure for the boredom that is your life? Join the Wreckers and you'll find it! .......................................It's called death"
I´d laugh my ass off if Overlord joins the crew. Also, I wonder of Yggs theory of him being Dominus Amber is right.
