Come to Ireland and see how entitled we are sunshine. We get nothing past wave three of each line. Even at that distribution is extremely spotty. Not like we can go around to target, walmart, tru or anywhere else. Plus we pay over the odds when the euro is stronger then the dollar yet still pay more than what American dollars would exchange into. So yeah I am pretty entitled.

You believing it or not won't change the fact that it's... fact!

Think about it little panda, if three years ago Hasbro said we were barely 10%... why with the third party explosion and the fact that people are shitting themselves in hate of the BEAST HUNTERS and CHEAP PLASTEEK toys now it pretty much guarantees that we are even less than before!

Kids and parents will always be the giantic majority of toy buying. Always. There IS a reason that only a smaller fraction of toys are aimed at us and there is a reason that when the kid toylines are rolling it's Generations that gets kicked to the backburner until it's done.

Collectors spend more money in general, on acquiring figures either in bulk or for themselves or friends, dunno bout where you're from but here in Ireland it's a guaranteed community that 90% of tf sales are most likely collectors versus kids/parents. Maybe fans make up a smaller number than thought but 10% ha yeah no chance it's only 10% boy. Hasbro pump out shit like bumblebee in 14 different colours and sizes of course collectors will cherry pick. I myself will cherry pick beast hunters whereas for TFP or the movies I bought all the on screen bots.

The reason why gens gets kicked to the backburner, and it's not to throw us a bone to the little community as you suggest "little panda". It's because hasbro will not have two competing lines running at the same time. Especially with a movie or tv series coming around. ;-)

Let's see believe Hasbro who's in the business of selling toys or some disgruntled fanboy? If collectors made that big of a precentage why wouldn't they make more toys for collectors... oh that's right cause collectors really don't make up much more than 10% (which is what Hasbro has been quoted saying). Making up numbers, precentages and claiming how much collectors spend doesn't make it fact.

It's hard to tell exactly since the lighting is a bit dark, but it looks like the proto pics in that gray scale color. The red one though.  Even if I'm wrong about the second turtle's color, I'd welcome any version of that mold. More Arms Micron the better.

That's why there is such a thing as online retailers and ebay. I think everyone here at some point has had to resort to the internet route because things just never showed up.

Yes and your speaking about only one region of the world. Hasbro pumps out millions of units of each figure and distributes them on a global scale. Even factoring in all the kitbashers and those who buy and resell on top of ordinary buying trends for collectors, it still doesn't contribute largely to how much is sold worldwide. As Shroobmaster has tried to drill into your head, we as collectors are a minority. The numbers may have changed slightly, but we still do not buy nearly as much as your are prescribing. Families will and forever shall be the target demographic. Heck ask some of the parents here and they'll tell you they've bought more for their kids then they have for their own personal collections.

So says they guy with 25 Bumble Bees in his pic. I would say a kid might only get one so just there that's 1 collector= 25 kids. Just look at the collection thread on this site and tell me were Hasbro gets a good chunk of their money on TFs.

A few things to keep in mind about this percentage nonsense:
    - most kids get toys, most adults do not
    - secondary market = no money for Hasbro
    - Hasbro's main lines of toys are clearly geared for kids
    - Hasbro obviously cares about the adult fans, otherwise BotCon/TFCC, Masterpieces, Generations (especially obscure bots like Straxus and Black Shadow), FEs getting re-released, etc., wouldn't happen

Also, Hasbro took down the two blurry photos of mistransformed toys? Big whoop.

Pity there's no like button on this brittap, you are spot on!!!! Sit down hollywood hoist. Hasbro continually tell lies about product and distribution. They have dicked around with hasbro UK for the last two months about Masterpiece Optimus Prime. Hollywood you were probably one of those that whinged and cried and threw the rattle outta the pram when windcharger wasn't in the states but wait....didn't hasbro oblige by sending windcharger there. Think they did. Think the fan had enough sway there. Was hardly a group of children, who most likely did not grow up with G1 that got their way there right? To think the fandom are 10% of buyers you have to be joking. What a ludicrous little statement.

Oh and to the guy whom said "online retailers", I speak not only for myself but much of the communities that do not have that option readily available for different reasons. Plus what fan doesn't like going into a shop seeing the line he likes on pegs and being able to pick and choose. Sure online retail is easy but for the likes of me that live far away from places like America and Japan, shipping actually costs a fair amount. So you may also take your smart alec answer elsewhere. ;-)

It could be, and probably has been, said that collectors are the biggest children of them all. A fair chunk of the arguments, comments and smart-ass remarks you see daily on these boards certainly portray that.

I'm pretty sure it's NOT okay...

Prepare to have the Hasbro police kick down your door and take you to the Institute.

I decided to delete the message.

However what is the total number of people with collections on the forum compare that to the number of children out there buying Transformers. I am not the average Bumblebee collector.... at least I hope not :)  So using me as an example is misleading. Also for full disclosure I have 2 more Bumblebees that aren't in that pic, also for most of those I have 3 of each 1 in package, 1 in robot and 1 in vehicle. :)
