Well, okay, Spotlight TrailCUTTER, to be fair. No full solicits yet, but Previews has it's listings for IDW's products for April out now, revealing that in addition to the standard books, the fourth Classics UK volume, the 8th IDW HC collection and the third RID trade, everyone's favourite one-trick-pony is getting a Spotlight:

I guess the trademark-required use of his alternate name is why MTMTE made a point of slipping said name into a few recent issues. I think we can safely assume this'll be a Roberts-penned issue.

 

I'm so happy Trailbreaker is finally getting some love!  

 

I'm not too bothered with the namechange, but I think it's fun nontheless that the MTMTE annual states it's simply another name for Trailbreaker, providing *some* in-world explanation. Just like what they had to do with 'Rodimus'.

(And how about the bit in Infestation 2, where Trailbreaker is actually called Trailblazer, and he transforms into a locomotive. Brilliant!)


Cool to see he's getting his own spotlight - although with the quality of the recent two spotlights, my expectations aren't that high.

 

Nice! Trailbreaker needs more love, I'm looking forward to these spotlights especially the more offbeat ones that look at the characters who get less love.

 

Didn't see THAT one coming. But Sol is right, this is a great character to Spotlight.

 

Hopefully Trailbreaker does something badass with his force-filed powers like the Invisible Woman did in Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe.

 

This will be the first comic I've picked up in years.

 

We need more of these kind of Spotlights. It helps MAKE them important characters. Everyone's got to start somewhere.

Well I do hope this is one of those Spotlights that's written by Roberts.

I also hope that it's better than Pax and Thundercraker, they felt too...skinny.

 

Okay....is Transformers: Monstrosity an X-file now because that was suppose to be released this month. Yet there's no peep.

Looking forward to more character spotlights as well, although I'm not sure I really like Roberts's Trailbreaker. Loved the more old guy G1 incarnation, but looking forward to what they do with this version.

 

Monstrosity would not be listed on here, as this is for comics that are in print, and that one is going to be digital distribution only IIRC.

Everybody on the Lost Light who hasn't gotten a Spotlight deserves one for this reason (although mainly to really develop them as individuals on the side since they're all unable to get a lot of action in the main series). Hell, they even pretty much wrote out the plot for a Spotlight: Rewind in MTMTE 12.

 

They should call it: Spotlight: Neener neener neener, you're never getting a Deluxe of this guy.

I wonder what connection Trailbreaker has to the Metrotitans/Metroplex, that said. Or if it'll be set in present day, so he can use those new gun legs of his.

maybe I misunderstood, but I'm pretty sure the Thundercracker commentary implied 7 spotlights at least, 3 written by barber, 3 by Roberts, and 1 by roche

 

I though that Roche is only drawing the Megatron one? :/
