The colours are a bit weird, but she still looks very awesome. Definitely a must-buy for me.

 

true i was thinking about how small thundertron is in beast mode. It might be passable. im just iching at the idea of other mythical beast modes.

Thundertron is relatively small in beast mode and Lazerback is quite large for a modern deluxe. They could swap heads pretty believably* I see no reason why Ripclaw- who is presumably sized similarly to Lazerback- wouldn't be the same.

*I'm not saying the engineering would work- I haven't checked. But I'm staring at Thundertron and Lazerback on a shelf across the room and their beast-heads are roughly the same size.

 

Do you have a cat or dog? Do they look "female" to you? Transformers are giant robot aliens whose proportions are all distorted and exaggerated by any human standard, and then they physically fold themselves up into whole new forms... and you can't accept that one of them doesn't look like a Barbie doll? I mean, seriously dude.

Maybe the "point" of calling it a "she" is precisely to acknowledge that not all female robots have to adhere to the same stereotype. Monsters can be female too... and they don't need boobs (especially not lizards, duh).  

That's sort of a cool idea... though Thundertron's had is pretty integrated into his chest... it may not work well with this body. But it's still a good place to start.

(though technically, Manticores are supposed to have human faces, aren't they? I mean, mythologically.)

Scylla is not exactly a progressive female archetype or anything, but I do find that there is just something appealingly wacky about her. Also her robot design is pretty adorable as far as fembots go.

most of the time tho i have seen them with lion heads. she wouldn't have a mane but lionesses don't so no problem there. ( i sorely miss the Myth Wars project that was going around here)

I mentioned this before but I guess it got lost in the shuffle - but since Hasbro owns both WotC/DnD and Transformers, that means dragons aren't lizards, they're mammals.

Manticores, in their original mythic presentation are supposed to have a human face on a lion's body. It's one of their traits. It often gets simplified by contemporary fantasy artists as a lion's head, but that's not strictly accurate. Or... as accurate as a legend can be, anyway.

Are you arguing against using the right name for the wrong colors, or repaints in general? If it's the first, well Cliffjumper & Tapout & Bumper area all seperate characters, just like Ser-ket and Ripclaw are separate characters. Ripclaw has Ripclaw's colors, and Ser-ket has Ser-ket's colors.

If you're arguing against repaints ... you're 29 years too late ...

And if you think Cliffjumper, Tapout, and Bumper are all the same person or that Ser-ket and Riplcaw are the same person ... I don't believe you.

This Ripclaw lass certainly has colours pretty close to Ser-Ket's from Rage of the Dinobots! Less black, more red, slightly different colour placement...
