the roadbuster dotm deluxe packaging shows him all painted up in chrome, but the actual figure is gray plastic. this kind of false advertising makes me sick

 

Unfortunately, clear plastic and good box art won't change how downright terrible that mold is. I still regret spending $14 on the original KO figure.

 

I LOVE love love how they keep shooting him with the painted spear and never deliver.

 

Oh look his weapon is unpainted AGAIN! But this is the best figure out of all of them. Greens my favorite color.  

 

Knockout looks good but I don't want to get the set just for Knockout.

 

what's wrong with the knock out mold? i've never had one.

 

I can tell you one thing: translucent plastic does not work with that mold.

 

Yeah me neither but I want it. It looks cool enough on the box art.

 

There's not much wrong with Knockout either the Micron Arms one the Hasbro one or this repaint - so long as you paint some of his missing paint details and transform him properly that is.


I often think the main two reason people are snippy about him is they were shocked by how small he is and/or didn't know how to transform him correctly.

 

Hmmm....I find myself oddly intrigued! Maybe it's his sweet rims.  

I'd buy this one....like it better than the original.

 

BBTS has individuals up now of the Dark energon figures.

 

$30 for one figure is too much for me. i hope tru ends up getting these.

Where are you seeing $30? They're $20... unless you're including shipping? But honestly, it's still not a bad price. I see you are in the Bay Area in California as well, so you've probably noticed that Target now sells deluxes for $18.49 around here. That means that aside from shipping, these are essentially selling for retail price (though admittedly TRU and Walmart are still down in the $15 range). If you've never used BBTS' Pile of Loot option, it makes the shipping cost a lot less painful (assuming you order multiple items from them over a period of time).

TRU won't be getting them, though. They aren't shared exclusives, they're just regular BBTS exclusives (like the Seacons or the GI Joe 7-packs).

Really? Huh... the Targets around me (Peninsula area) are charging $18.49 now for deluxes. Well, in that case I stand corrected... but I do still think that, as exclusives go, the Dark Energon figures are priced pretty reasonably.
