i really REALLY hope this isnt the closest we get tp a transformers prime figure of shockwave

 

These look really good, although I'm still undecided on Leo Prime. I've felt very iffy about Thundertron to begin with, and seeing it in these colours doesn't do anything for me either, but I don't dislike it.

I'm definitely going to be getting Shockwave and Ultra Magnus, though. Thank goodness TakaraTomy gave Ultra Magnus a weapon that doesn't suck. I'm looking at you, Hasbro, you horrible people.

I like how Shockwave's Micron just fits right into the figure without looking out of place. Leo Prime's, however, is just a remould of Arcee's Micron, which is kinda neat to be fair (although the arms sticking down at an angle like that look goofy), but it feels a little lazy that they didn't just make a new one. Still, there's quite a lot of new moulding on it.

 

It's not a retool but a completely new mold. It does share some of the same transformation but no parts are the same.

I'd already decided to pass on Thundertron. (The Zoids coloration just doesn't seem to fit in with TFs.) But this guy looks great. Preordered from BBTS. (Hope they aren't too many difficult stickers.)

 

I demand December to arrive! nao. But seriously, Takaratomy really hit this one out of the park, esp Leo Prime repaint of Thundertron.

Just when I was thinking of dropping Leo Prime, these pictures come along and reassure me that this guy deserves my money, and while I like AM Magnus's hammer, I prefer the paint (what little there is) of the Hasbro release. I'll probably just pick the hammer up if/when TT releases it on its own.

 

I wish Hasbro would just go ahead and say if they are going to repaint Thundertron as Leo Prime or not, because that Takara Leo Prime is aces.

 

I would presume not at this point.

If they're planning a redeco it would likely be something else.

It looks like it's just Thundertron's head with a different paint job. If that's the case, the design of the head is all wrong for Leo Prime.

So basically it's a figure that should have a head that looks somewhat like Optimus Prime but, instead looks like a pirate head with an Optimus Prime paint scheme.

FAIL.

They really should've remolded the head on Leo Prime.

I want that Leo Prime to go with my Lio Convoy. I love the color scheme on him.

I don't think that at all. Again I'm just thinking they needed a Shockwave figure to be out in time for his Japanese debut.
