And of course I preordered the wrong guy when it came to Rumble and Frenzy, luckily BBTS still had the preorders open for Rumble (red). Got him, Wildrider, and Leo-Prime all pre-ordered at last.

 

GAH! Why does Takara get TONS more than Hasbro? Oh, that's right, it's because Hasbro is cheap.
Hasbro doesn't have Breakdown, Swerve, Cylas, Smokescreen, Rumble, and even Unicron, but Hasbro hasn't even showcased ANYTHING new until next year.
Next Takara's going to start making us few who don't import from Takara feel bad because we won't get their super-awesome FOC Ratchet.

I'm sure it was brought up before, but I'm surprised they have released pics of AM-27 to 32 yet no mention of Silas Breakdown, Nemesis Prime, and, most importantly, Smokescreen. Makes me wonder if there might be a delay in their release. That, or I am reading too much into something.

 

Does that Takara WFC/FOC Ratchet exist ?

I must say that after these pics I actually for once want some Arms Microns (aside from Breakdown). They all look good...what's holding me back is the do it yourself kits. I really want that the Red Rumble/Frenzy.

 

I'm quite sad that Shockwave's coming from this line rather than the Takara Generations line. I would have loved to see a premium paint job on him.

nice try, but breakdown, swerve and cylasdown are the same mold, which is out of hasbros' production costs at the time. smokescreen and red-rumble are repaints, which hasbro isn't exactly focused on right now, and unicron, well, you've got me there.

and what do you mean they haven't showcased anything new? FOC starscream, kickback, fireflight? this shit's been revealed for months now.

 

Hasbro said at NYCC that Rumble/Kup is the final wave of deluxes for 2012 in the Prime line. After that they are pushing Generations. They specifically namedropped Smokescreen as a figure they want to do for the 2013 Prime line (and they showed off a cyberverse version, which is usually a good sign). They also suggested Unicron was not out of the question if they can find a good way to release him.

If the current image of AM UM looks like that in the final product w/ no paint smoke stack, mirror, I will be very disappointed. That would be the deal breaker for me to pick Hasbro or TTomy. Also, I do love the Hasbro accessory rifle/hammer combo, so I'm willing to pass the Micron hammer. So unless TTomy can top the paint app, Hasbro has my money on Prime UM for now.

 

I hope we get some better pictures of Shockwave soon. I was hoping he was equipped with an arms micron AND his regular weapon but right now it seems he's got only the arms micron...

Y'know, I'm getting more and more charmed by the way that so many of these arms microns are little animals... and fun stuff too, like little elephants and squids. That's awesome. Too bad we won't see them over here.

It may have just been Hasbro BS, but they did say at NYCC that they were "trying to find a way" to release the AMs here. Not much, but hey. Beats a "no."

Remember, The whole Arms Micron thing started with those minicons we in the west got in the PCC 2-packs like two or three years ago. There's really no reason the guys that got released as Arms Microns in Japan have to be released in the US as something related to Prime at all. Only a few like Megagorilla, Rhinohammer and Vehiguana resemble stuff that's been seen on the show and certainly they aren't so incredibly show accurate that you can't possibly imagine them in any other context.

So no, we probably aren't going to see a western release of the Arms Micron line, but there's no reason to say we'll never get the minicons at all. Hasbro hates to let a mold go to waste if they can help it.

Then again if hasbro gets their hands on it I'd say we've got a 50/50 shot of getting them either 1) repainted in more realistic weapony-type colors or 2) given some gimmick that makes them stupid and expensive.

 

December seems too far away!

I'm so glad I preordered Wildrider. As for the others: ehh, I want the Minicons but I'll wait til they're released individually.

The Micron kits are so cheap they could easily stick them on the cover of the UK Transformers Comic - but I don't see that happening as they are not bright enough to make the effort to negotiate it.

Perhaps they have a future as a candy toy ?
