I think he is beautiful myself, but the price tag is too much for me. The only reason I have the Shadow Command version is because I traded my FP Protector set for it. Otherwise I would be stuck with the awesome-but-should-have-been-a-leader DOTM Voyager Megatron.

perhaps the worst mold of Megatron in all of creation for an appropriately ******ed price.

No, he was right... Megatron Leader toys look HORRIBLE. The Voyagers look much better, and are far more screen accurate.

Megatron never got a great toy, anyway, because his alt-modes and his robot mode are so angular and choppy, that it's hard to translate into a toy... If you ignore the back kibble, ROTF Voyager Megatron looked the closest to the big screen version, 2nd was DOTM Voyager Megatron, but the horribly bland paint job on that figure takes away a lot of points.

I would LOVE there to be a panel discussion on Movie versions of Megatron being developed into toys. Why they chose the gimmicks they did. What was so hard to design. It would be a facinating discussion.
As it stands, in my opinion, the best Megatron toy is TF: Animated Leader, followed by TFP Voyager, then Cybertron Leader Megatron, and the rest can fight for the scraps.

I'm not hating on them for being "movie toys" ... some Movie toys are among the best TF ever made... The Human Alliance Jazz, ROTF Leader Prime, Deluxe ROTF Sideswipe, all are excellent toys. Leader Starscream & Brawl look fantastic. Megatron, unfortunately, got so many last minute touchups and re-designs that the folks at Hasbro weren't able to keep up. Prime they could constantly improve, because he remained the same between films (other than the metallic 6-pack).

I said it before when pics first surfaced, but I would love to have that paint scheme onDOTM Voyager Megs. Neither Movie Leader Megatron mold looked any good to me, and while DOTM Megs looks cool, the lack of paint hurt it. Guess I'll keep waiting for an attractive representation of Movie Megatron. :(

I don't necessarily think it's the worst mold ever, but considering what literally came out and sat on the shelf right beside it (ROTF Leader Optimus), naturally, this thing is underwhelming. Definitely not worth the price.

Every custom I've seen of it always has work done to the arms. And every custom I've seen is a step-up.

Thought to their credit, that paint scheme actually looks good. I like it.

Darn...I think I must be one of the that really like this mold. It screams of 'viciousness' every time I look at it. The only downside is the gimp left arm.

I recall reading somewhere that ROTF Meg was designed in toy form first but his appearance changed during the production of the movie?

I personally love this figure. $140 is not bad compared to the $300 dollars that Shadow Blade Megatron has been going for on Ebay, in fact this is a better paint job IMO.

When people say "Shadow Blade Megatron", they mean the Animated Leader class toy, right?
