he will still stand but very precarious, he's fine and a shelf with a bit of texture to it.

I remedy stability issues by placing a small ball of super-sculpey wherever the foot begins sliding. Sculpey is also a great way to get dynamic poses without the additional crane-arm accessory most figures require.

I really enjoyed these reviews, great job TJ, they've really helped me feel good about getting both sets. I just completed Hercules last week, and I have Green Giant on pre-order, can't wait for it to arrive. And i have two of the Yellow sets, though I'll be unloading those.

I feel both sets do something better than the other, but the only one I've found to be truly weak is MT Loader, the bot mode just feels unposable and looks too awkward for me, but for the rest, I'm fine with the choices each team made, I'm happy to have both sets.

These will be crowning figures in my collection, though they do make me want to get all the other upcoming combiners as well.

This is what I used for my Herc. Since my display is a glass panel it tended to slide. So I bought a pack of these cut out a section that fits and voila. No sliding and since it kinda looks industrial(diamond plate) in the first place it fits right now.

Hey, I posted this in the Maketoys Giant thread but I think it got buried. Would it be possible for you to take a set of pictures of each of the Green Giant robots standing next to their TFC counterparts? I think that would really help some folks out when it comes to deciding whether or not to get both...

Which of the two versions of devastator actually fit into the classics scale and look because I don't have herc or giant to compare to my classics in person.

This my personal opinion of course, but I've read a lot of complementary posts saying the same:

Giant (and it's individual bots) are very classics styled. Heavily influenced by G1, but more of a reimagining.

Scale wise because of the sheer enormity of Herc, I think Giant, again, is closer in scale to the classics line (similarly to the G1 version was to the other G1 toys).

Of course if you want Dev to really tower over everything else, Herc is the way to go.

But finally, I find the Herc aesthetic to be very A/E/C.

    Some more comparisons:

Alright, so I've had Giant for a day now, and have had Herc since each piece came out. I do not have and never will have the rage set.

So far, I gotta' give it to Herc, and not just by a little bit.
Here is the bottom line: Herc looks better in combined mode. Much better. Big blocks for forearms, giant oversized hands, heafty shoulder blocks, big 'ol head with personality... I just love the chunky fella'.

I will say this: Giant is still great, and is objectively a more accurate Devastator. I guess I just like Herc better than Devastator. The changes to the G1 design are an improvement.

Then there are the little things. Giant, due to it's fine detail sharply cut into nice hard plastic, actually hurts my fingertips while playing. These are big worn manly working fingertips, no less. Herc literally feels better in my hands.

Herc is also way less fiddly when transforming.

And while pretty inaccurate, I love the "A/E/C" look of each Herc toy. The inaccuracy is once again an improvement. They just...look like fun.

And you know what, Herc gets significant points for the names. Dr Crank. That's soooo zany and endearing. Exgraver. Hell yeah. Sorry mobile crane and excavator. Your names just suck.

I don't want to be unfair. The look of the plastic is much nicer on Giant. The cement truck mode absolutly kills Mad Blender's alt mode. Most of the individual bots look way more G1. Most of the bots are easier to pose. Dump truck is an amazing toy even on it's own. Giant has better weapons. Overall, for under $400, I am entirely happy with Giant. It is fantastic.

It just doesn't stand up to Herc.

Is the herc better? I think yes.

Is the percentage that the herc is better equal to the monetary amount more it is than the giant? I think no.

Meh, I like Giant much more than Herc. But your opinion may vary.

    It obviously varies, haha.

Also, would you guys be interested in seeing a stop motion for Giant as well?

A coue posts back there were some ppl that disliked that herc had alot of ports which make him look generic, i have to diagree on that. I like customizing things and i think its great that he has all those ports to store weapons or whatever you like. Which is probably why there are so many aftermarket parts for him. Everyone can have a slightly(or extremely if you get rage of herc set) different looking herc.

biggest deal breakers for me was the size(prefered herc size) and the fact that mt giant used a skeleton arm for combined mode. Seriously, thats kinda wacked and cheating in my book.
