This DLC takes nothing away from the game. It is not like you are missing portions of the campaign or are left with a severely limited multiplayer without it. It is an added bonus and it is only $10. If you figure you will spend a couple hours playing with the unlockable characters that is about what you would pay to see a movie or buy a CD off of itunes.

As for the people complaining about the cost of Videogames, $60 is a damn good deal (at least for the good ones :lol ). Videogames cost less now (and do more) than they did in the 80's and 90's. My parents paid $79.99 for my copy of Mortal Kombat for the SNES and some N64 games were closer to $90 when released.

I'm just happy we got a second good Transformers game, one that not just Transformers fans like, but the mass public do as well.

How can they make the vehicle modes so goddamn cool-looking, and yet the bot modes are boring as hell? Oh, right, cause they're making NEW vehicle modes, but just copying the bot modes from G1 and adding very little. :rolleyes2

    Two things.

#1 the premise of Grimlock in this game is stupid for two reasons. First, Grimlock did not exist until the autobots acame to earth. And even if they changed the story, how in the hell did they know what a dinosaur was, let alone look like?

#2 For $60 a game co better release a complete game. Not a fractured one and then sell "download (ripoff)" packs. This is primarily the reason why the video game industry is losing money.

They didn't change any story, Fall of Cybertron happens in an alternate continuity. You know, like every other Transformers show/comic/toy line/game ever.

It is a complete game. DLCs are bonus/optional content.

Shockwave observed Earth many millions of years ago and created the Dinobots. They then defected to the Autobots.

The Dinobots not existing until the Autobots came to Earth only happened in the G1 cartoon and Animated. Everywhere else they existed prior to coming to Earth.

Shockwave didn't create them exactly, and they didn't defect to the autobots. Grimlock and his team already existed and were already autobots. They got captured by the decepticons and experimented on by shockwave who had been studying earth and had their cybertronian modes removed and rebuilt into the dino forms thinking he would be able to control them.

I've not played the game yet so I wasn't aware of the full story details.

If I'm paying £40 for that disk, I want all the stuff on it. I don't want to pay more for stuff I already payed for but is locked by a bit of code.
Oh and those things are DLC Pre-order bonuses, you get them as an offer with the game, not separately.

I normally can't stand the overly litigious nature of society, but I agree with you here. Just the fact that the locked stuff is called "Downloadable Content" is misleading. You already have the content -there's nothing to download.

If nothing else the practice makes it impossible as a consumer to know exactly what you are getting for your money.

This isn't some case where on disc code is the best way to deliver additional unfinished content. This is a case of a finished product having content deliberately locked behind a paywall. This is a case of Activision saying this isn't really a $60 game, it's a $70 game. You know, stuff that doesn't matter. :rolleyes2

    That's a lame backstory.

And ONLY happening in G1 is kind of a silly statement considering G1 is the basis for which all other TF stuff originated. That is a big ONLY.

I'll pass on the game until i find it this time next year for $15. Beats being fleeced for $60+ for an incomplete game.

Okay, if you get the whole campaign, you got the complete game. Mind you, I'm not thrilled that as an XBox player I have to shell out money to have a Gold account just to play any non-campaign modes, but that doesn't mean I can't play the campaign.

Also, as far as the G1 comment, and this coming from a HUGE G1 fan, this game was intended as a pseudo G1 prequel, not slavishly so. Think of it like DC's Elseworlds or Marvel's "What if..."

If you think the designs are boring why not go play DOTM and ROTF instead, those designs might be more your thing?

Personally I think FOC designs are amazing but to each his own; what you might considered awesome I may think is boring and ugly, but that's why Transformers is great, it's broad and has enough room for everyone.
