Just got mine today and he looks great, I actually think that he looks the better than Sideswipe or Sunstreaker and I could be wrong but it seems as though his shoulders are slightly re-engineered compared to the former two..... mine actually rotate and click into a position where as I don't think the others did. I'll have to dig them out to compare.

The engine piece not clipping on is annoying, it would have been nice if Hasbro had included a remold or even just left the piece out entirely instead of giving us an annoyance. I guess it kind of stays on but you can tell it isn't meant to.

On another note, the joints on my Red Alert are very very loose. Interestingly enough I ordered him along with Axor from ToysRUs.com and Axor also has extremely loose joints.

I picked this guy up today and Love him. The transformation is very ingenious, espically when you slide down his hood to make it all line up.
Major QC issue is that the thing you use to rotate his head up cannot go a full 90 degree's, it just goes 85 or so degrees. Are there any fixes for this?

Well I apologize of resurrecting an old thread, but I finally got to transform Red Alert (well he was already out of packaged and stayed there for a long time) anyways when i transform it his roof popped off and I'm trying to put it back together so I'm going to stop before I get frustrated. So hopefully I can popped it back on if not I just don't know and man this figure's joints are tight. Also I've noticed a tiny red scuff mark on where those Lambo engines are located that from the back the car has those ridges...I don't know what they're called. Still the figure looks good, but like I said earlier if I can't popped that roof back on well I might sell it and might find a new one....maybe.

The roof can be popped back on. It's pretty simple.

Yeah I know, but I don't want to use too much force because I don't want to break it. You know what I mean.

The shoulders on mine got a bit loose over time. What I did to fix it was to first pop the arms off the shoulder ball joint, then I cut two small squares of scotch tape and placed those squares over the shoulder ball. Put the arms back on and voila, tightened joint.

You may need to add extra layers of tape depending on how loose your shoulders are (ie place two pieces of tape on top of each other then cut out your squares). There's other methods for tightening as well, but I figure everyone has scotch tape laying around somewhere.

Future Finish is prolly the better fix for a loose ball joint - HIGHLY recommeded.

Yet, I don't think that was what the OP was talking about but I could be wrong. I was thinking he was having an issue with the pin that rotated the shoulders and mine is perfectly fine in that regard but again, Future could fix that up too.

Heh, that's the "other method" I figured someone else would bring up. Future is certainly the more professional way to go about it. I just always suggest scotch tape first since, as I said, most people are more likely to have tape laying around than a bottle of Future. That way people can try out the fix right away, then later redo it with Future should they choose to. Tape or Future, it all works by the same principle and tape generally works just as well for tightening ball joints.

If he's talking about the pin, well, obviously scotch tape can't help there. :)

You don't need a whole lot of force to pop it back on.

I don't understand what the problem is. Does it look like the roof or the back portion have any excess plastic that's preventing it from cleanly popping back on? Seems okay to me (judging from the pics).

This might seem like a dumb (and insulting to you) question, but are you making sure the pieces are aligned properly? I can't see how it wouldn't pop back on. It looks like a clean fit.

At first I was laughing, but now I'm kinda insulted by that, but I'm over it. Yes, I tried to align them because I can see grooves there on the red piece on Red Alert's back and I'm getting frustrated I mean like you said it isn't that hard to pop it back on.
