My understanding is that we'll pay for all six figures at once in June or whenever the subscription service goes up. Then around November or December we'll receive the first two figures. The next two will ship in January or February and the last two in March or April.

You got Sideburn before June??? I thought he was at least in July. I moved to my my current place in the lst half of June and didn't get him until after then.

I vaguely remember the panel that day and wasn't sure what the whole deal was. All I caught was "hey, instead of 3 a year, it's 7 now."

And I'm not too fond of them cutting out the foam boxes either... That's one of the few things that made exclusives feel so, well exclusive. I'm sure we'll get a 3rd party company that'll hook us up with something to fulfill our desires of that missing piece.

well, hopefully since there's a chance of (much) higher production runs, no fancy boxes, bells, whistles, or trimmings we won't have to pay $50+ per figure. I'd hate it if for all 6 plus the "freebie" costs $350.... That's basically the box set price without the box, pin, and foam insert. Furthest I'd be happily willing to go would be $200. Any more, I'd still buy.... But I'd be very pissed off about it.

Alright, I wasn't sure where to put this, but this seems like the best place.

FunPub rolled out the G.I Joe subscription today, finally, and you can see how a potential TF subscription is going to work and get some insights into a potential price because I bet the same rules are going to apply to the TF sub.

    - You *must* be a G.I Joe Club member to order the subscription. Chances are real good then that you must be a TFCC member to order the TF subscription.

    - The Joe subscription is $294 for 12 figures, so I would expect the TF subscription to be above that. At least $400?

    - The installments plan is you pay $98 on the first month, $98 on the second month and $98 on the fourth month for the Joe club. They charge a $3 processing fee for each payment if you go the way of installments. It'll be the same for the TF sub in terms of prices and processing fees I bet.

    - You can get shipping insurance for the figures.

    - Credit card only.

    - The club is stating that "some" of the figures "may" be available at the club store -- they will be $32 per figure if they are available. They will also show up after the subscribers get all their figures. So I'd expect to see the same thing apply to the TF sub. Kind of a bummer for people not wanting the full sub (and were hoping for single sales) but....

    - Since the GI Joe sub is made to order, BBTS jumped in and ordered a ton of subs. They priced the figures at double the cost (so most are $45 and $50) and I was easily able to get the ones I wanted. The good news is with the TF sub, I can see them easily ordering a ton of figures along with every other retailer like TF Source and ToyArena so these figures should be very easy to grab if you don't want a sub.

I believe that the Club said that the figures would be in the $50 price range. So since there are six figures it should be closer to $300.

Interesting stuff, thanks for the info. I hope they wait a few more weeks before rolling out the TF one - my wallet took a hammering at Auto Assembly and needs a little time to recover!

I'd hope the TF one doesn't go too high - I could see $300 being reasonable given past club exclusives have been valued at ~ $40-50 per Deluxe. Ultra Mammoth would be more, but the others should moderate the cost a little.

Finally SOMEthing... There's a good chance it'll be the same price because it's half the figures. I would be thrilled if it turns out to be only $300... I was prepared for $400 but didn't factor in the lack of boxes. So shipping is included in the cost?

Shipping is extra. I think Hisstank members said shipping for all the figures was in the $60 range (plus insurance), when all is said and done? Because separate shipping on each set of 2.

Here's the full page if anyone wants to look:

GIJOECLUB.COM - The Official G.I. Joe Collectors' Club!

Also, without insurance, they won't replace damaged, lost or misdirected items, so it sounds like without insurance you are screwed if anything goes wrong. And since I've known two people now who have had issues getting what they ordered, I would recommended insurance on the TF figures if the same deal applies.

They also opened sign-ups for a little over three weeks, as it ends 9/4. Again, I'd expect the same for the TF subscription service as the Joe and TF clubs always operate similarly.

So really with shipping and insurance it may still end up near 400 (total price). I might just hold off and grab certain ones on the secondary market (or one of the stores)

Yeah this is really looking to not be worth it if you actually ONLY want one or 2 of the figures. I mean me I only want Slipstream and Breakdown. The rest I have no desire to own.

So I guess I will just save myself the hassle and go with the secondary market. At least I will save on shipping and all and I won't be stuck with figures I don't want and have to try and sell off.

And as crappy as it may sound I think they should just launch the Joe subs this year and take the year to test the waters with it. Then launch the TF's next year. starting off with 2 might be a little much with the year they have had so far.

Looks like I'll be likely just getting the 1 or 2 I want on the secondary market.

Maybe we can arrange "group buys" in the BST or something so that people could split a subscription and not have to pay store markups. One person would subscribe and the others commit/pre-pay/etc to buying certain figs off them.

I agree with testing the waters. Pretty sure there are plenty of customers who are impatient, however.

    This isn't a bad idea.

That wouldn't bother me so much, except for FP's proven track record on absurd shipping prices.

That's exactly what they are doing. The latest club mag states it's starting in the summer.

The way I see it, the projected price is LESS than a Botcon set with more figures and actual retools.

    That's not a bad value.

Least this gives me more time to prep for it, between school for me and my son and Christmas and his birthday coming up I am strapped.

So it'll still be around $400 shipped. And from the sound of it, insurance is practically necessary. I'm still in for the subscription. $400 was my personal max at getting them all. Anything more and I'll be forced to pick and choose using other means. Though I'd much prefer to have them all through the club.

Hmm. Breakdown seems a lot less appealing with FP's Breakdown on the way. Circuit and Jackpot aren't interesting. Ultra Mammoth is fun, not required.

That basically leaves Scourge and Slipstream. Since Scourge will be my fourth version of that mold, one of which is an evil Optimus Prime...Slipstream is probably the one I want most. This might not be an ideal deal for me. I love the TFW-coordinating-subscription idea though.

I truly desire Slipstream. One of the best new charecters and a great mold as well.
