Does anyone else think that there was a major toy designer change at about the beginning of the design cycle of the toys we've been getting since DOTM? I've been thinking more recently that there might have been an introduction of new designers..after all..the designers we've become familiar with cant be around forever.

That combined with the cost saving measures could result in what we've been getting the past 1+ years...if my theory is correct though then unless the new designers have beaten that learning curve, we should expect more f the same for possibly the next two waves of generations... unless there are some of the older designers working on a figure or two..

Not to be mean here but I don't remember FOC Optimus Prime being a mediocre or horrible figure, heck I like this toy a bit more than the WFC Prime.
But it's I still respect your opinions, it's just that you guys are REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY harsh on these more recent figures.

Hey guys, I noticed an [EIDO11] moment that was not censored in the podcast. It's around the 02:24:00 mark, when Seth is talking about the price of the Samus statue. Figured you'd like to know.

I had suggested a more complicated way of presenting the segments last time, this time we kept it more simple.

Really? I don't know if there is much that can be done about it now but this wouldn't be the first time something slipped... But according to Gogdog in the TFcon prep show I don't swear so who knows what happened. :p

When you guys were talking about the Kreon blind bag codes, you said that you were wondering why they would put number codes, I'm pretty sure that that was intentional, since the My Little Pony blind bags have the same thing, also those capsule microns, did they put Megatron's in that?

Good episode, i like the occasional 2-man episode and i liked the parts where Gog waxed about the whole "Hasbro and TFP Breakdown" situation as well as the section where the quality of this initial wave of Generations/FoC figures was flushed out.

That said, I would like to post my thoughts of FoC Shockwave based on a couple points mentioned about him this episode. What follows is strictly my opinion, and I respect those stated in this episode.

Count me among the people who quite enjoy FoC Shockwave. I think he's much niftier than the DOTM one was. While i can't deny he would've been better as a voyager, he's, in my opinion, really well done for a deluxe. He's actually one of my favorites from the year so far. I feel like he was harped on for being decidedly mediocre.

Shockwave's posability is something that was mentioned as an issue. Really, the only area i think he is lacking in pose-ability are the feet and the waist. He's missing a waist swivel, which could have been engineered in without breaking up the sculpted detail, and the feet simply flip out to a standing position. I would have liked a waist swviel, but i can live without one, as some really awesome deluxes (Generations warpath, Generations Skyshadow) havent had one. As far as the feet go, i dont how they could be done differently, they just feel simple. Outside of those two gripes with his jointage, this figure is plenty posable, in my opinion. He's even got more pose-ability than some PRID toys.

Yes he doesnt have the pose-ability of say Generations Scourge, but that's not really something to be harped upon. Each figure is gonna have differing articulation, and frankly, i think Shockwave has a very serviceable amount of it.

The lack of "chunk" to his legs was also mentioned. Yes, in the game footage, at leas the stuff i've seen, he's got meaty legs, but stating the inaccuracy of the toy based on that is, in my opinion, a bit pointless. Not every toy, based on CGI based media is going to be 100% accurate. Also, my bet is that the designers wanted to include some easy way engineer the weapon in seamlessly rather than just tack it on like they have with several of the PRID weapons. Also, character-wise Shockwave is a scientist, a student of true logic. He's not always going to be out of the battle-field so he doesn't need to have hefty legs.

Again, just my two cents. It seems like Shockwave, JAzz and Prime are going to be pretty divisive.
