So here's a question. I don't drink. Not even a little. Would TF Con or Botcon even be worth it for me from a social event perspective?

 

I don't see why not, we even have a virgin mocktail added to out special drink menu for this year...as with anything in life, doesn't hurt to try once and who knows...ya may have a blast.

 

I barely drink, I think over the 3 days I had 2 beers? Maybe 3?
the social event part is fine.. At the end of the night regardless if you're drinking or not everyone's hanging around chatting, some playing with junk they bought that day, etc.. drinking or not you can still be social.

Can always order a soda (or a pop if you want to fit in with canadians).

 

Excuse me sir, but I recall seeing a poll showing that most of the US called it pop.   I happen to be a Michigander and it's pop here.

And now I've derailed the thread into a new debate.

 

That's cuz most people who would call it soda were out doing more interesting things than the net.

I would assume the only place people WOULD be drinking would be at the after parties, not at the convention itself. You could still have fun with people there.

And most likely you wouldn't be the only one who doesn't drink. *raises hand* I'd just take a can of SODA.  

 

*Sighs*Listening to these Con related episodes is always a double-edged sword for me. Always to cool to hear about all the fun stuff/events, but it sucks to not be there for it. Here's hoping I can go to Transfomers related convention next year.
