This can't be too much taller than a G1 Soundwave, based on that cassette in the picture used for scale. I can't wait to see a side-by-side comparison.

I haven't really watched any other Masterpiece releases... How quickly do they usually sell out? I'm still debating if I should pre-order it this early, or wait until there are more pictures and an exact release date.

 

Don't worry, they usually move slow enough that you can safely get it once it's out.

We've already seen a colour proto:

 

He'll be significantly larger. While his chest window is by default the same size as the G1 version, he's got a bit more mass and depth to the chest itself. His limbs are bigger and longer, and he's got a telescoping waist.

The G1 version was what, 7" tall? This one's going to be standard MP size, roughly 10"

As photos from the Tokyo Toy Show revealed, he is taller than MP11 Starscream and slightly shorter than MP10 Optimus

 

Can't wait for this...heh, I know what any Christmas money I get will be going towards! But then there's also the problem of US MP10, MP11S, the possible - but I'm doubtful - US MP Thundercracker, & MP14...good lord, this is going to be problematic.

 

hopefully the MP10 sale will start this weekend with SDCC. Im hopeful that they will also announce that MP11 is being released via TRU as Thundercracker at the same time, but i think Im getting my hopes up there.

 

I know the feeling. My fun-spending money limits are going to be broken for Fall. My kids are getting their toys first, then Dad gets his new toys. I've already started putting money aside to ease the brunt a little bit, but getting 4 MPs in only a few months? *gunshot to wallet*

 

And this is why I'm glad I've limited myself to collecting only the MP line [and a handful of random outliers, mostly third party] now. No more Marvel, no more GI Joe... just the quality stuff.

 

I have little desire to purchase any of the upcoming Deluxes, honestly. I want to get Voyager Breakdown, and I'm not really feeling the FOC toys outside of the Seekers (Starscream shown) and Jazz. I'll see what he looks like in person before I make a final decision.

 

Soundwave is around the same height as Starscream, Soundwave with colour added sure look great.
