Nope, you don't understand how it works. The manufacturer is charged back for all returns. Thus Hasbro will suffer for any returns made on its products. Any person who has ever worked at a cs desk (which I have not) would know this.
Besides I don't know why you are going on about it. Next month, if I walk into Walmart and they have the 1st wave out I will check them out. If they are scout sized deluxes, three for the loss bin.

What is insane is the fact that some of you keep shelling out the cash to these corporate goons just so you can have your plastic crack. If you have all this money why not at least give it to some of the 3rd party people. At leastr they are listening to the demands of the fans. I can't remeber which member called me crazy for this, but I can assure you that guy has done it before himself. Yet, he has probably stolen parts or weapons for himself before he returned it. I love how people get all self righteous behind the keyboard. Cracks me up every time....

Okay, fine. Let's say that you do force Hasbro to be charged for every toy you return, and you buy three "scout sized deluxes" for $12.99 each (even though deluxes aren't THAT small yet, they've got maybe two inches left to shrink for that to happen for them to be as tall as the tallest Cybertron scouts). Rounding, that's $39 you're making Hasbro "suffer" by loosing when you return those figures because you're such an ass about toys and size.

Let's be honest: do you REALLY think that by making Hasbro loose $39 every time you try to "beat the man" or whatever, you're actually doing damage to them? Hasbro makes well over that much simply from having money sitting in the bank and collecting interest on their millions.

And I wasn't lying about returns sometimes ending right back on the shelves. I have a Universe 2.0 Inferno whose box is held together by scotch tape and the figure itself was bouncing around the interior when I found the toy on the shelf. Only damn thing wrong with the actual toy was half the face paint app cured wrong (not even noticeable from a distance) and part of the cab panel assembly on his right shoulder hadn't been fully attached (easily put back on). It was mint condition otherwise. Is Hasbro charged for those returned products when they go right back on the shelf and the retailer still makes a profit from them?

First off, the Transformers IP belongs to Hasbro, and if they produce something I want, I'll try to buy it. All I am is a fan, they don't need to do SHIT for me, or any of us, to remain financially stable. The fact that they DO so much for the fandom already is an often overlooked detail in the corperate/fandom relationship. The original classics line was nothing more than a filler line, meant to hold the section in the toy isles until the movie came out in 2007. Hasbro was under no obligation to have that line continued, but they DID with Universe 2.0, and then AGAIN with Generations/ Reveal the Shield, and depending on personal preference the "yellow box"/Hunt for the Decepticons. They were also under no obligation to release the final Animated deluxe molds (Rodimus, Arcee, and Cyb. Ratchet/Ironhide), but they did through TRU.

Yes, 3rd parties are producing figures that are popular with the fandom, but not everybody can afford them, and unlike official stuff are sometimes not subjected to enough QC checks to justify the high price (anybody remember the i-Gear City Commander head that looked like utter shit?). Additionally, maybe some people are loyal to the franchise and not just individual characters, and in the big picture Hasbro serves their interests better with surprise figures like Darkmount/Straxus and Black Shadow.

Dunno about Bruticus, but no way CJ will sell for that. At first I thought he would be, I mean, he's essentially the same as last year's Prime, right? FE Deluxe figure, special packaging. Should be the same, right?

But the Deluxe class's price has gone up, he's got a shard of Dark Energon (if TFCC is selling Soundwave's bandana for $5...), and this isn't a preview of a mold that's going to come out soon, it's a mold that we'll never get in America.

They can jack up the price more than Optimus, I'm sure they realize that. I just hope that they're not paranoid because of the fact Optimus is still at HTS and underproduce.

Never done it and never will, but it's kind of sad that you assume everyone else steals. Guess that says a lot about you? And it's not because I am a special saint or anything, you see, most people actually don't do this. I'm not gonna be like you and assume you steal because you made that incredibly shitty argument to feel better however, but I'm gonna ask you directly.

Do you steal toys or accessories, hotrod54?

Nope. I don't even buy anything that is on the shelf right now, except my kids wanted a few of the Cyberverse Scouts a few weeks back. I actually haven't bought a mainstream TF since last fall. And it appears that I won't be buying any going forward. At least for myself. :)

If I decide to open and return some of their figures this month then so be it. It is my little way of sticking it to the man. Again, if Hasbro doesn't like it then talk to Walmart. No, I don't normally return stuff. But I will make a special exception if the mood fits me. If so, what is it to you all? I get tired of self righteous people who think they do nothing wrong. That is the niggest injustice of all. That you all can't admit that your no better than me if the mood hits. Your human. At least I recognise it.

Edit: I'm sorry, I did forget that I am currently buying the Bot Shot Transformers. They are actuall for my middle son, but I kinda like them too. I do have to give Hasbro some credit for those. They need to be a $1 cheaper, but they are ok for the price now.

Oh man, please just read what you just typed! You have to be kidding me now, have you no self-awareness at all? And sorry but that hiding behind NYAH NYAH YOU CAN'T JUDGE ME WE'RE ALL HOOMAN BEINGS is just absurd. Seriously, taking up the fight against a toy company? And you can't even grasp the absurdity of it? (and please, I beg you, don't even compare yourself to people that are really fighting real, worthwhile causes, that'll just be embarassing for us all).

What is it to me you ask? Nothing, since it doesn't affect me in the least. It's still a crazy thing to do, and telling people to please avoid doing stupid shit isn't being self-righteous at all, it's called freaking common sense.

Seriously man, just don't do it. Don't buy the product if you dislike it and you'll be voting with your wallet, the way it's supposed to work.

Some might suggest as an alternative to opening things if your annoyed about one of your local stores not getting any stock then buy some stuff in one branch and take it back to a different one (especially if the other one sells them for less or is located in a place with more footfall ) then if they are a cheaper or a more visited store ; that branch is more likely to clear what's 'clogging' at a lower price and then everyone's a tiny bit more likely to get more new stock and "Little timmy" has an increased chance or a cheap bumblebee if he gets good grades or did his chores etc....

That would get around such issue as "My local store has 50 Bumblebees" a bit better perhaps than ruining them would ?

Its often theorised that even Bumblebee overload will clear if the price is low enough so if you are having issues like that and one of your local branches does have them on rollback/clearance then it's perhaps a better solution all round some might suggest.

To anyone that was there at Botcon and able to see the Sunday display in person:

I wondering how Dreadwing scaled up with Voyager Megatron and Prime? Was he taller/shorter or around the same height? Same mass etc?
Kinda hard to tell from the pics because they aren't in line and some are posed bending down a bit.

    Thanks!
