Really, just WFC Sideswipe would be awesome. It matches the IDW version perfectly. But FOC Sideswipe would mean he makes an appearance in the new game, which would also be great.

Darn. I thought for sure I could stop collecting once I got the Prime FE toys. Now all this cool junk, a USA MP Optimus, and a Masterpiece Sideswipe. This was a calculated effort to send me to the poorhouse.

I just wanna see what the toy looks like because I have a commission set up for that sideswipe and a sunstreaker from the IDW comics. And if the FOC figure is really good I would drop the sideswipe commission and just do sunstreaker from the mold.

 

Has anyone ever asked at these Q&A panels if the colouring is a running joke these days?

 

We never saw pics of grimlock from FOC in toy form, or did I just miss them?

 

At this point I am beginning to think it is, and I love it.

 

I'd be shocked if Sideswipe got a new model for FoC. In other words WfC Sideswipe IS FoC Sideswipe, and who knows if Sideswipe is even playable in FoC.

That suits me, I actually just sold my Universe Sideswipe, but wound up sort of liking his psycho portrayal in RiD.

 

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. If it's the WFC depiction, that's great. If it's a new one, that probably implies he's in the game even if he's not playable.

 

So Soundwave is a voyager, despite many other important characters like Shockwave, who gets a dinky deluxe. And Soundwave already got a pretty decent figure in WFC.

The original WFC deluxes were to test the waters (so to speak) to see if it was a viable option for toy design.

And if what was heard from Botcon was true, then this is an improvement over the deluxe because now he can store multiple minions in his chest. And there will be a Soundblaster repaint, so personally I'm going to wait for that since I already have the excellent deluxe. The most important detail is if the Voyager can also turn into a Cybertronian tape deck.

And Shockwave...well, he was DLC only in WfC and, aside from some ambiguous connection to why Grimlock is now Matt T.'s new favorite animal, hasn't been seen that much in promotional material for FoC.

 

For the last time, it's because he not only carries "tapes" but launches them.

Here's a brilliant brainwave, don't get it if you don't want it. Get Soundblaster and say he's a different character. Or just get the Grimlock who's likely to come out in this assortment. Or just be happy that instead of CHUG-ish Voyagers dribbling out here and there in other lines, we are about to get multiple new molds designed for Generations.

The old Generations Soundwave, which I personally love, actually got a LOT of negative feedback for not being "boxy like Soundwave." Oh yeah, and for not having a minion. Lo and behold, this one is much boxier and, well, you know. Hasbro can't listen to some fans without pissing off others. Love. It.

I'm somehow hoping for an Ironhide repaint out of that. We need a new Ironhide.

 

It seems like they are really trying to make Soundwave a special figure, it's great.

 

actually I could see that, reading Ironhides mini-series, there are some pretty clear simularities.

 

Soundwave should not be larger than Megatron. Ever.

Who begged for a voyager Soundwave? I was under the impression everyone wanted a good shockwave figure. FOC Shockwave is puny, and next to the new Soundwave, even more so. They don't need to make it voyager to give him minions.

I don't mind a voyager Soundwave, but when it cuts out other more deserving characters, it really rustles my jimmies.

 

You guys do realize that because Soundwave has Legion "cassettes", that being voyager size was possibly the only way to have him store them? I think he looks great, but worry about him lacking wrist swivels.

 

I did. Soundwave should always be tall. Or so I thought until Prime...

Still good point. At least either way Grimlock's posibly getting a voyager figure which I'm happy about.  

 

I'm glad there are haters on Soundwave. That means I should be able to get one and his minions without a lot of difficulty.

 

They really do. He holds three, he launches them, and they are sold separately as Legends. We aren't talking about a guitar, or a gun-former, or a missile with a little sculpting on it, or a tiny little thing that would blow away in a breeze like Prime Laserbeak.

Some Soundwaves are bigger than some Megatrons. This was true and it will continue to be.
