Probably because the original Vehicon and Knockout are already designed with ports.

 

I like that a lot. Car with wings = not bothering me, it's crazy enough to work (and the robot mode is awesome too)

@Tekno, depends on where you want to draw the line really. The basic transformation scheme and robot mode is about the same, but the vehicle shell is new to this. You might argue because the transformation is the same, it is a very extensive remold, like Cybertron Crumplezone to Dark Crumplezone. On the other hand, you might consider it like Dead End and Breakdown in the original Stunticons - same transformation scheme on different toy bodies.

I'm definitely of the same mind as you, to call it a new mold - the only truly unchanged parts are looking to be the head and the chest. Arms and legs are altered to take the new body, I'd say you're looking at more like 60 to 75% new molding on this one if you add that into the equation.

 

Just had my 2 cases of wave 3 Fromm bbts charged so wave 3 has arrived to bbts!

 

Well, I got the Takara Vehicon and Jet Vehicon locked in a preorder as of last night. All I need is one Hasbro version and I'll have a nice little squad (including my FE version as well).

I do enough army-building with GI Joe - this will be good enough for me.  

 

At this point I just consider it a new mold with the same transformation rather than a retool.

 

They always looked like regular jets to me, the few times they show. I looked at an enlarged picture though and now I see it.

 

I think it's a retool if it's a retool, even if it's more new parts than old. MP-11? Retool. The old parts still influence what you can do with the new parts, so it's not a wholly new figure.

Sometimes HasTak amazes me with what they can produce with retooling...

 

Me too only I only got one of the 3 packs I ordered and it was substandard? I'm confused here.

 

"Substandard" just means the card might be bent, or have a little nick in it, or something. If you're a super-picky MISB collector, it might bug you. But if you're going to open the toy, then there shouldn't be a problem.

 

Looks great. Shame it's going to be extremely difficult to find one.

 

Especially if he disappears in wave 4 and is a one-wave shortpacked wonder.
