As others have said, I really miss this series and the art, as well. I really wish it would have been finished. I have all the comic issues still too.

Thanks so much for sharing these !

Dreamwave the company (and esp Pat Lee) were very shady and rotten to the core. But I like the art very much. Sure, angles were wrong on several occassion and esp. with micromasters it was hard to figure out what was happening. But in comparison a lot of IDW's output looks rather bland. With DW there was so much detail in the art. Not just on the figure in front, but also in the background. With IDW (depending on artist, of course) it's often flat in the background. And not just in the TF comics, but also in their other titles. Seems almost like a IDW housestyle: backgrounds should be simple and flat.

I really wouldn't mind if everything that was floating around from unpublished DW work would be collected so the stories could be finished. Some sort of closure for that era.

as above pat lee tarnished dreamwaves legacy but i found the comics to be out standing. I still re read them far more then most of what IDW has ever done . Their web site was excellent and the reason i discovered TFW2005 was cause of DW and got me buying comic books again after a ten year absence. When i discovered they went belly up i was illegitimately sad and i dont think IDW ( despite showing promise currently ) will be ever able to match the hype all those awesome lithographs, posters and that #1 issue was able to do . Don , Guido , Alex and all the countless others efforts are not acknowledged enough . This small sample of what could have been should be reminder of what quality DW did and hopefully a influence to what IDW wants in the future....mind you im not holding my breath .

I’m amazed that we’re presented with images of Ratchet constructed of marshmallows and an Armada comic that’s 40% recycled artwork and people are saying how much they miss Dreamwave and how much better their artwork is than IDW’s.
To add to the confusion further are comments about an IDW ‘house style’ when one of the consistent complaints is the lack of consistent style in the art.

Agreed. The strangest part is that nearly all of these artists have since done work for IDW. Do some people really believe that all of these artists have gotten worse with practice, years later?

It seems to me that maybe some people just want drawings that remind them of the original cartoon. Blocky, bold colors, thick black lines.

I prefer art that facilitates the telling of the story and showcases the individual artist's style.

It's amazing what you can accomplish by promising to pay someone,,,, and then not.

See also, housing market, lottery, etc.

Well, lottery is a different thing. It promises you a chance at winning, and that's true. It's "you pay X amount of money, and either you win or you don't". There's no scam at work here, unless nobody ever won anything and the lottery company just kept all the money for themselves.

[Insert some lame connection between "Just a man", Linkara's "I AM A MAN" and Cobra Commander's "Was once a man".]

I had a great time reading the scripts for AoW 4 and 5, and the outline of 6, trying to envision those scenes. But of course, it would be cool to actually see the whole thing completed.

Strange thing is, in my mind that Flash scene with the Quints was completely mirrored.
