I knew it was bound to happen as soon as I heard Hasbro was going to do a limited release of Primus with a Unicron Head and today I saw it. After searching for Primus with a Unicron head I finally saw a box saying with Unicron Head. I reach to pick it up and notice something wierd, NO UNICRON HEAD! I look at the box better and notice that the bottom looked to be opened and taped back shut. Some jackass most have bought it removed the Unicron head and returned it. Or it could have been opened up in the store, and some jackass removed the head, walked off with it, and a Wal-Mart employee saw an opened box and taped it back up. Luckily for me there was a few others there containing the head so I finally got one with a Unicron head. I think that if people are caught doing something like this they should be publicly drawn and quartered.
Man, I so want a Unicron head. But I don't wan't to pay $50 for it. Nor would I do what that person did.
That is pretty scuzzy to do. I would love to see the return of the mail-in exclusives. Bring back the robot points Hasbro!!!
reminds me - a couple days ago I saw a Star Wars figure in a store with the figure (R5-D4) missing from the package. I inspected it a bit and noticed the plastic bubble was cut to get the figure out. ... And thus the world gets more twist-ties on the way.
I saw that in Tucson about a few weeks ago. There are more toy thefts in a short period of time for as long as I can remember, as reported on this board or seeing it for myself. It is sad to see the retailers taking it up the ass and try to screw the customers in the process by re-selling a defective product.
I've only seen the non-head version in Delaware. I have no restraint so I picked one up without waiting for a Uni-head...assuming a Uni-head ever shows up in Delaware at all. I understand the idea behind limited Unicron heads to get people to buy before it goes on clearance. But geez, when your first sightings in several stores have no head....I think they should have made more.
Sadly enough this was the same Wal-Mart I saw the Titanium vehicle pack with the Silver Death Star bonus containing a regular Death Star. In this case the set was obvoiusly opened and then returned.
Dear sir, You are aware that there's a rather large, ass-kickingly cool Transformer that comes with that head for fifty dollars, right? Or have you already purchased Primus and don't want to buy again just for the head? That I could understand. But Primus is most likely the best toy of the line. I've had more fun playing with him than almost any of the other toys I've gotten this year, except my VF1J. And yeah, people are scummy. I can't believe a store would accept it as a return, or just tape it back up upon seeing it opened in the store. Well, no, I can believe it, I just think it makes them almost as scummy as the person who stole the head.
I havn't seen any Uni heads in Southern Cali. I have A still-sealed Primus I bought from Target that I dream to someday exchange for a head one.
It hurt a bit, but I bought a Hasbro Primus to get the Head. I had already enjoyed the Takara Primus for months. Well, The Hasbro Primus is on display in planet mode. Crooks hurt everyone. Retail prices have to reflect theft insurance, and we the fans get an unending supply of wire-twists. Still, I too do wish Hasbro would bring back Robot Points. The Unicron Head would have made a perfect mail-order deal for those of us who already had the Takara Primus. Now I'm just waiting for Has/Tak to recolor Primus, though I don't know how they would justify it. Maybe a slight mold/head mold change and call it the Speed Planet? Ouch.
There are justifiable recolors of Primus. Maybe an actual silver one like G1 Cybertron. Or, better yeat, Golden Age of Cybertron Primus. Though that sounds like something Takara would do as a lucky draw.
