I agree they are the same character but he is different enough to warrant his own nomination.

 

All versions of a character go in w/ the name. Megatron becoming Galvatron is consistant w/ most verions of Megatron, & would therefore be included. Since G1 Megs & G1 Galvatron are the same character, they'd be in together. That would extend to all Galvatrons.

Saying Megatron is Galvatron is the same as saying Optimus Prime is Orion Pax. The are directly linked.

Scourge & Cyclonus coming from a Sweep & an Insecticon would be a bit more unclear.

 

Wheeljack is such a D-List character. There's no reason for his inclusion unless you're just going to add EVERY G1 character.

And if that's the case, he can get in line behind Tracks and Cosmos.

And if we're really just going to induct every G1 character while BW fans bully that whole cast in on fan votes, you can just flush the whole idea of a TF HOF down the toilet, which would be shame since the people inducted truly deserve admiration for what they have contributed to this franchise, and trying to nominate a character with a boner-pun name makes a mockery of the whole thing.

And I don't think Bob Budiansky and Peter Cullen deserved to be mocked.

 

D-List? Do you realize that he created the Dinobots?

 

Wheeljack also has the distinction of being the first TF in the opening scene (post opening credits). A lot of G1 plots were driven by Wheeljack's inventions (either saving the day, getting stolen or otherwise causing problems for the Autobots).

& Wheeljack appeared in most continuities.
