Well, what age group are they shooting for?

It might be that they're going for a younger segment, but a kid that age they can get to act on-camera in transforming the toys.

Plus, these are intended to be a gateway drug, plain and simple. If the kids want something more involved, they can buy toys from another toyline. Cyberverse is probably gonna be the next step up; after that, Prime.

That theme is pretty damn awesome.

I actually think it'll be interesting seeing little Kindergarteners playing with Rescue Bots.

I dunno... I am a bit skeptical now. My 5 year old son of course is all hyped up, from the promotional stuff we got at BC this year, he asks me at least once a week when the show will be on. I keep telling him not at least until he turns 6 ;) . Anyways, we both love watching "Super Hero Squad" together as it is fun for kids, but actually delves deep into the Marvel Universe.

If "Rescue Bots" is just going to be a TF version of Bob the Builder or Frieman Sam I'll pass. My kids have seen plenty of kids safety cartoons. I was hoping for a kiddified version of the greater TF universe, with bits of fan service here & there.

The series has been touted as a "Teach Safety to Kids" show since Day 1, with no plans to feature any of the Decepticons at all.

And why would you deny your kids watching this if that's the case? Let him watch it for himself and decide if it's something he'll enjoy instead of shooting it down because it's not Super Hero Squad: TF Version.

    I want a Sparkplug toy!

Also, I think introducing the Shattered Glass-verse is required so we can get away with putting Decepticons in this line.

My nephew just started on the plastic crack after he borrowed my ROTF Hubcap for a weekend. Last I saw he's got Animated Snarl, Optimus Prime Speedstars, and one of the Human Alliance Basics. He's only 4,,, a bit below the recomended age.

My son is only 9 months, so this is comming out just in time to keep him away from daddy's Alternators, G1's and collectables. :D

I thought that the first time too - then I notice it's more complex than that the legs split the arms transform and move out and the bubble moves back. it's at least as complex as Optimus.

The only small issue I have is that the Playskool Go Bots did have a bit more movement in the arms than these have - so they will be a bit to static as robots.

Surely even very young kids don't need to be told that much to put the arms by their sides before Transforming them ?

As the lack of movable arms (and to a lesser degree heads) is the only downside for me - I'm not as bothered by the immovable legs though).

I'd suggest Hasbro design them so they heads can rotate (when the design permits) and they all have shoulders in future waves then i'd happily buy several dozen of them.

Very high shelves or a room with a lock is a better idea - trust me i've heard some real horror stories enough to make a rock cry.

Just thought about it, and would it have been a bad idea to put a female robot and/or human in the mix. Just sayin when I was a tyke I would've liked a female autobot, or con.

And look how many Jetfires got broken and had lost parts...

You seem to think they're trying to sell those toys to kids ages 5-10, but it's more 2-5. The Optimus Prime Fire Station says 3-6. My 2.5 year old daughter loves the stuff and is able to transform them all by herself.

    We're cheated!

The plastic seams much more substantial than our adult versions and their mushy transformations. These snap and pop together like old times, and have a nice weight to them it appears.

I love the look of these guys. I might just pick one up, either Heatwave or Optimus, I guess.
