You better crank up your time machine and make a visit to late 2010, because all the design work for MP10 has been done now, the mould tools have been made, and they've started manufacturing samples.

If porche didn't allow takara to use a vehicle mode for binaltech meister, why would they allow then to use their design now?

    Striker Optimus?

IIRC the proto on the back of the original ROTF mold did have articulated fingers.

I love Takara's half-assed attempts to tie everthing to G1

    cyberverse bases combine?

In one photo it looks like all of the cyberverse bases could be connected to combine into a super base? Is that right or just the way the photo was laid out?

Anyone know what those things are on the same page as Butterfly Prime (Ulitmate OP)? Looks like the Speed Stars, but Optimus has his trailer.

Assuming there is a US release (seems likely, but no official word)- if they keep with tradition it won't have the trailer (and probably short smoke stacks).

Not sure if I'm getting this. I'm so torn (although leaning away from it, slightly- I've already got MP Prime and he's not a big favorite). But if I do get it, it will absolutely be the Takara version. One of my biggest gripes I have with the one I have is the absence of a trailer.

It also used to bug me how big he was vs the ALT/BT toys. This solves that issue, but I can't see displaying two MP Primes at once, and giant Megatron goes well with giant Prime.

His proportions are pretty much the same as the original MP-01 Optimus (picture composite by Code of Walky).

Other than the price(and the fact it's another Prime) I can't understand all the hate this thing is getting. Personally I think it's MUCH nicer than the original, plus his size works better for me. *shrug*

Ah well, here's hoping I can somehow afford this once it comes out. Of course after the Rodimus debacle I'll wait to see reviews on him first.:lol

Yeah it's a ton better than the original Prime by all looks of it.

I want this Prime so badly. Bot mode, alt mode, it all looks fantastic.

Only two months left to go...only two months left to go...

Personally, I can't wait for this guy. The original MP was cool and all, but as more recent lines have come and gone like Animated and the various movie iterations, I've become increasingly unenthused with him. The toy just feels dead and soulless to me. All hard right angles and a lifeless weight to his posture. I'm just so used to the liveliness of Transformers sculpts nowadays, MP-01 just looks so outdated now. The fact that this one actually has a nice truck mode is just icing on the cake.

As for that hate and criticisms, sounds to me like a lot of the same level of criticism that the likes of Hercules is getting. There's nothing fundamentally wrong, it's just a group of people who sound like they're trying extra hard to convince themselves that they don't want it. At least, that's how I see it.

More divisive, yet readily affordable figures don't seem to draw the same amount of roundabout commentary.
