He looks good, proportion-wise.

Obviously, panel details have been molded into single chunk plastic and the shoulder wheels can't fold down, but it looks like a decent budget toy.

 

It would be awesome when they make the 'rescue ratchet' redeco if a 3rd party creates a G1 head to slap on  

 

He may not be a Voyager class, but I'm glad that they finally got the proportions down. I'll pick him up just based on that. Anything is better that a green block bot.

 

DOTM compares well with that picture.

There's some trade-offs, but there's also some clear improvements.

If they have plans to do another movie Ratchet figure, I hope they can get that chest transformation right just once. When you figure out what's going on with how the grill splits and the lights shift their arrangement, there's actually quite a simple way of going about it that would be superior to the cheat they used on the NEST figure.

I tend to prioritize accuracy in the upper body because it's where most of the personality lies. Anyway when they mess up the legs, I can just display it behind a smaller bot.

 

You could always buy a Universe Deluxe Ratchet and swap the heads that way. Probably cost just about as much if a third party did it.

 

Will Ratchet ever get a good release? At this point I will just stick with my Best Buy Ratchet.

 

I like it, while I prefer the "skinny legs" on the ROTF deluxe mold, just about everything else is better on this one: The upper torso, chest and head sculpt.

Overall he's well proportioned and finally a mech tech weapon which isn't over done and kinda makes sense for him.

 

I was expecting a repaint of ROTF DLX Ratchet, but this is better.

If those wheels just folded flat or turned sideways, this would be perfection. As it stands, It's still great looking, and I'll be grabbing one. I really do need a Deluxe Movie Ratchet. (Well, any deluxe Ratchet that's not Animated)

 

Gah, the only mold flaw I can see is the removed wheel folding. Other than that, a much better representation of Ratchet, finding a great balance of bulk (IMO, the first deluxe was a little too skinny) while of course looking more accurate than the blocky Voyager.

 

Why the hell can't they just make a new Voyager? Goddamn.

 

The front wheels don't fold down? Then no.

 

For me the original Voyager looks 100000% better.

 

Woww!! that's a sick Ratchet hopefully they will use him as a model in the movie, cause i really didn't like what they did to him in robot mode, unlike now he's even got a gun on his roof

Not bad, but I'm happy with the NEST version. I wouldn't mind an updated Voyager Ratchet though.

 

I think I will be buying this just for the MechTech weapon for Voyager Ratchet. Unless we can Radicon those wheels to fold down.

 

The NEST Deluxe is still the only Ratchet figure I have, and I don't like the look of this one enough to add it to my collection. Gotta say - that's a nice Mechtech weapon, though.

 

Wow, Ratchet is roughly the size of the RotF one, and dwarfs Barricade there; Barricade is tiny!
