Dammit! This guy is looking good... I like the very clean forms in the combined mode. Where the hell are the other 4 constructicons???

Y'know, I'm starting to think we're dealing with a 2-pack here. I'll bet we're going to see a Hook/Scavenger set, followed by two more releases, probably one every year, including pairs of the other Constructicons.

5 times bigger?? Do you used BOAT CHAIN in your toilet tank?? :D

And mentioned that the same kind of chain (ball chain) is often used in longer lengths, on children's toys, to attach pens at the bank counter, and to attach dog tags, with no issue. You can also buy it off spools at the hardware store. It doesn't tangle.

Though come to think of it, I do have a lamp that uses the same kind of chain for the switch, and it gets snarled up all the time, so perhaps it just depends on the quality of the build of the individual chain.

This is a valid point, but I don't think ball chains kink very easily, which is why they're used so often for certain high-use purposes.

Also a fair point, though I think I'd prefer a chain anyway. Still, a die-cast hook would be pretty sweet. :)

    The head looks off-centered...

Will need to see better pics but it seems like the head is not in the middle and is a little on the right side....

This looks smaller than I anticipated. Also, the head being off-center really looks stupid. I'll be sticking with my fully crazydevy'd Devastator.

If they're releasing them in pairs then they're going about it in a very strange manner, I'd have done it as legs, arms and torso in that order. That way only when you get the final package can you assemble your Not Devastator, making it a really special and epic moment instead of having a silly looking torso with some arms attached on your desk for months desperately waiting for it's legs to arrive.

Give me this set for under $300, and I will gladly accept this flaw. :)

Same, it's a really minor flaw and to correct it would require a fair bit of extra engineering to get the crane base and the neck piece to scooch over.
Not Hook is already pretty busy as is.

We should have a impromptu poll, which Not Construction do you want to see next?

I think Not Bonecrusher would be good, if only so that torso could be propped up! I'd also really like to see what they've come up with for Not Longhaul though.

Damn already one flaw..a off centre head. and such an easy thing to fix. Let us hope they are showing us protos to get feedback and fix mistakes like that one.

That is a big thing for me seeings as I am buying the set soley to have Devatator displayed. This set will have to be $300 or less for me to bite now.

If these figures are more than $80 I won't bite no matter how good it is, especially with that head flaw. Defender was $80 and a Triple changer and with diecast and larger than these guys. These guys may be "triple changers" but no diecast and smaller and you can't argue engineering because I garuntee Defender was a more involved design.

Why did you have to mention the off-center head? Hadn't noticed it, now I can't unsee it!

Eh, still looks really good though (except for the head not being in the center).

I finally see where we don't see eye to eye on the matter.

You're talking about pull-chain, that looks like a line of linked beads. That stuff can't bend over on itself closely enough to tangle.

What I've been talking about is actual scaled chain-links.

In which case, I still disagree. Pull-chain looks even less like something you'd find on a piece of construction equipment.

I think they look great, I actually hope they release them in 2 packs over 3 years. That would build the excitement, like Nexus Maximus.

Looks to me you still need to pop the hand on, but the treads for forearms is really smart.

Tripod stances and off center head are minor quibbles to me, but they are worth mentioning.

    Dear ROTF Devastator

    Dear ROTF Devastator,
Why can't you be more like your brother, Not-Devastator, he applies himself! Not-Devastator already has two components that transform from well detailed vehicles into highly poseable robots. Not-Hook even managed a humanoid hand into his gestalt-arm mode. Your components don't even have bot modes! You look like a giant developmentally-challenged child's attempt at "Post-Modern Deconstructionism," which is what I tell my colleagues when I see them. Oh, are we crying now? I should be the one crying his optics out, like your dear mother does. I was going to tell you that you were adopted and we never loved you, but only half of that statement is true, and to my undying shame I'd like you to guess which half that is! That's right, twist that energo-blade in a little deeper. The reason you're even named Devastator is because, I had the "bright idea" of insisting on the name before your birth. Guess the slag doesn't fall to far from the smelter! I can't go back in time and right the wrongs we bought about in assembling you into the world, but I can do this: I'm switching you and your brother's names around at the Archive hall.

    Sincerely, Dad

P.S. I Left a puppy-oid in the gravity well of the collapsed star in sector 2, go get it.
