    energon ended because it never took off the series was on constant repeat i don't think i ever saw past episode 5 at least not on Cartoon network where it was originaly aired.
    i personally liked the show but appearently not enough people did for it to stay on air.

    I agree the Energon cartoon blew (all of the Unicron Trilogy did), but I was under the impression that each part of that trilogy had a planned life span?

    Yes. The Unicron Trilogy shows were developed with the Japanese television market in mind, which has a trend toward weekly installments and 26 / 52 episode shows.

    That said, the show got buried in an early morning slot for much of its run. That's practically the next worst thing to cancellation. Not to mention that one occasion they cut to a commercial break in the middle of a sent-

    I recall not being too impressed with the Energon comic at the time, but this makes it sound like things were going to get interesting. It would have been cool to see Energon Grimlock and Swoop in some kind of media too. Oh well.

    I agree... it's such a well designed saga that it is epic even if told in this unusual format.

    Furman is one of those writers that starts out slow and goes into major epics given a chance.
