i only bought wfc prime and thrust so far from the gens wave 1 line coz i have a feeling about this. will have to delay next CHUG purchase til i see United versions to avoid double purchase (unless its Jazz we're talking about). wallet is safe til MP and FP rodimus.

Yep, same color as the original character they meant to homage. But then again, if neon green and orange Megatrons are good enough for you or all you can afford, go nuts.

Both colors are accurate. Henkei homages the show, Hasbro homages the original toy.

Only the insides of Megatrons gunbarrel kibble where bright green and that's because of the raygun look.

Eh, whatever. To each his own.

Either way I look forward to see how these look and what the mystery Bumblebee and OP listings are in both this and Generations.

You couldn't be more wrong. I have G1 Astrotrain in three color schemes and the Classics version looks like none of them.

MAYBE the Japanese version, if you huff some paint before you have a look.

you can stick to generations because youll get the full line in the u.s. the u.k. and other countries wont. hell i bet some places in the states will have a nightmare chasing the last few figures down. ill be honest tho jazz with a crome spoiler does not light my fire. if they do that.

    exactly.

The original Takara toy was white.

Just for reference. I mean, yeah... I guess it had a white base, but the paint scheme being similar really stops there.

It's really minutia, but that's what makes Henkei so desirable is those attention to details (and the paint looks really nice in hand). Some were negligible/unnecessary, some looked way better, and a few looked kinda stupid.

The difference for Astrotrain was enough for me. The difference for Sunstreaker, Prowl, and Sideswipe wasn't. But I like having those decisions to make.

I have both versions of Astrotrain. I prefer the Henkei version because the goofiness of the gray is now so distinctly Astrotrain, but I also love the Hasbro version as a nod to the Takara origin and as a more realistic color scheme.

Well, you're talking about two different companies, for one. United is Takara. The three pack is done by an Asian division of Hasbro.

And Japan is going to get modified (in deco) versions of the Generations toys as United. Asia got modified versions of Cyclonus, Rodimus, and Galvatron in that three pack. It isn't a case of anyone getting our stuff and us not getting theirs, it is a case of each group getting their own variations on those figures.

I still don't understand why Challenge at Cybertron aint getting an American release considering its in US packaging and everything on it is in English.

Anyway, Transformers United sounds like a football team but i'm glad there will be future deco choices, as i've always liked to pick and choose the best from both Henkei and classics, i.e mix and match.

I already got most of them as generations but I didn't have any complaints about the decos, now it'll be interesting to see what Takara does differently and whether I lean over to TF:Utd for future purchases.

The Ultra Magnus/Optimus Prime 2-pack and Grimlock/Jetfire 2-pack didn't get released over here, either, and they were in all-English Classics-style packaging.
