well the obvious next step would be master piece devastator. Really I would love to see something really amazingly difficult like that be achieaved.
Rodimus looks pretty amazing and bought! I can only hope that Takara is now hard at work on an MP Soundwave!
Save about $12 a week until Jan, and whoever is having problems with the price can get him. Treat yourself. May be hard to do for those without much disposable income, but it's possible.
Get both. If you can't, I would pick Predaking. I'm sure MP Rodimus will be plentiful and it will be available for a few months. On a side note. The thread count on this thread is epic. For the short time it's been around, it has way surpassed the entire "Transformers War For Cybertron Discussion" for posts.
Well the closest thing right now for a Masterpiece Devastator as you might know is the TFClubs version. The question is are you prepared to pay? I'm paying close attention to that thread.... to see what the next developments are If you like both and have the money for one right now, as Waverider has pointed out it would be smarter if you get Predaking as the Masterpiece Rodimus Convoy. Chances are that it would be more readily available than Predaking later on. But the way this masterpiece is coming along..... I would take Rodimus Convoy it's hard to pass up on this but I'm a little bias
Hmmm just been thinking/wondering what kind of repaints they're going to use for the Rodimus Convoy mold? Would Takara do a comic version (King Grimlock) with a unique comic inspired box, and/or a special edition (aka Ghost Starscream) Crystal colored version, call it the matrix version??? I know people have put up their ideas in previous post in this thread as I also have participated in it but just curious to what Takara would eventually do.
It's very possible there will be some sort of repaint, it could be as simple as doing a "MP Hot Rod" without the trailer or just as simply re-release the figure a few years down the road. Either way I'm sure they are looking at ways they can recoup costs. Although Megatron has set a precedent as the only MP mold to date that doesnt have a repaint.
And given what an impractical figure he is, I think Megs will stay that way. T hat's why Has-Tak will exploit all of the other molds as much as humanly possible. Not that I'm complaining.
I almost wanted to point out Grimlock, but I forgot the "G1-colors" version that technically counts. As for MP Roddy, I can see a Hate-Plague red version coming out. Maybe in clear to make it more interesting. Wouldn't touch the thing, but if they really want to sell multiples of him in some way, there you go. They could also steal from SG and go the black/purple (goatee!!) route.
SG Rodimus steals the Titanium Menasor idea if anything, which the Titanium Menasor idea was based on the Takara Black Rodimus reissue from almost 10 years ago. So that's the original. I don't know how many times I have to explain it to people as it's a ridiculous notion to think that TakaraTomy will base a Black Rodimus redeco on the Shattered Glass version with the goatee. They won't be stealing or borrowing BotCon's idea. They'll probably do a black and gray version (no goatee, no purple) like they did for the Black Rodimus reissue all those years ago. Well, it gives the fans an option.... if you can afford it and you like then, it's your choice whether to buy it or not. for example, I didnt even buy the Starscream masterpiece until they release the Ghost Version. I was speculating that it would eventually come out. And patience is not even built into my vocabulary, yet I displayed the virtue. I guess I would say it's just not one of my strengths PoweredConvoy, I remember Takara releasing that black and clear Hot Rodimus set at some convention awhile ago. If I remember correctly it was limited to 1500 pieces. I got them for $150 per set. C78-C Crystal Hot Rodimus is my favorite Transformers toy to date and probably the MP Rodimus Convoy when it comes out.
Yeah they were very limited. They're very nice too and I wouldn't be surprised if one if not both are planned redecos of MP Rodimus. Randy
G2 coloration? Eh? Not sure what else they would do. There is always the fallback Black and White coloration they could go with for no good reason. Pretty much no chance this would ever get a Shattered Glass deco outside of customs.
Did I miss a Rodimus in G2 somehow? I see the aforementioned black (not SG), Hate Plague red, and "Matrix Glow" translucent blue as the only real candidates.
He apparently had a slightly different color scheme at the end of the G2 comic. Think his normal comic's purple and silver with more yellow (or so I've been told). Randy
