Stan Bush was never a good musician, and the Touch was never a good song.

Still sucks. Time for Stan to move on. The original "Touch" was cool, still a childhood fave, but I can only tolerate "Dare" now @ 36 - and I gotta be in a certain mood for that.

Up until his appearance in 2007 - I hadn't even known he was still making music. Obviously, while not a one-hit-wonder, not super-talented either.

Sad old man trying to cash in on his former 'glory'. He should just make do with the fact that his were the most remembered, most reminisced about songs from the original and best Transformers movie, plus 'The Touch' got a bit of an outing in Boogie Nights too, but I guess that doesnt pay the rent.

P.S. I always thought Dare was the better song.

If that day ever comes, somebody shoot me.

Excited for the new album. (Stan mentioned a new one coming in Sept.) Not for this song though. It's only marginally better than the rewrite of a song that never needed reinventing in the first place. And I hate how the last line of the chorus is never repeated like in the orignal and just leaves us hanging. Reminds me of when Bon Jovi tried to reinvent Livin' on a Prayer on one of their 90's albums. Didn't work then, and it doesn't work now. Classic rock artist are great artists and they don't need to "reinvent" their sound to be "hip" or "cool." Stan's work is normally wonderful and has evolved over the years as clasic rock itself has. I hope this one bad song won't drive people away from buying the album, because I'm pretty sure the rest of his songs will be great.

The metal band Testament did an album in 2001 with nothing but re-recordings of their old songs (First Strike Still Deadly) and it was pretty badass, well received too. Perhaps it can be done well, but it's a risky move since it's going to draw a lot of scrutiny. But really, in this kind of business, what isn't a risk?

Creepy guitar guy must be SB's brother. Also, Stan can do whatever the hell he wants to as far as I'm concerned.

A couple things about this song.

As stated prior, this song didn't need a re-write. It's like taking a Journey song (not in the same level of awesome, I know, but stay with me) and re-writing it adding and changing things to make it sound like it's a hip new song. Not needed, and it tarnishes the memory of the original song because, wow, now there's a not-so-great version of a classic song out there, and worst of all, it was remade by the ORIGINAL singer. Oi.

This reeks of "Look! We've made it sound like Linkin Park!" ... from the original version of this remake with the rap and the overbearing piano, with the "starts soft gets heavy" type to it, all they were trying to do was coattail the sound Linkin Park has done for the first two movies and hope to catch a ride on that cashcow train. If you can't see that similarity then you're living with rose-colored glasses, this song was remade to make-a-the-money, and it failed ... not even Michael Bay was impressed.

Stan Bush is a great guy, he seriously is. But he's also a businessman. He knows his major audience is the Transformers fan community, and he's reaching out to us to help him make some cash. While I can only commend his business decision, I also loathe it, as I feel that an out-dated artist from my childhood is trying to come back with this franchise, not realizing just how out-dated his stuff is for this generation.

That being said ... his music was awesome for the 5 year old in me back in 1986. And in the very early 2000's, the nostalgia was awesome. But you can't recapture the original magic, especially when you try and pervert the original sound in to whatever this is.

*NOTE: Speaking for myself, and not the site.
