I would never blame cameramen for taking too big a slice of the pie. That's about one of the most replaceable jobs on a production. But I'm sure Bay himself, as well as central characters like Shia will pocket a hefty wad of cash for their troubles.

I don't doubt it at all. In an uncertain world, Transformers is about as close to a sure thing as they come. Studios seem increasingly reliant on megabudget 'tentpole' movies. And knowing how Michael Bay rolls, a good portion of the budget is probably already part-financed by numerous product placements and endorsements.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say Hardcore Eddie will get have as much screentime as Epps and Lennox always have. Though he probably will be more comic relief than the two. With his character, it's more and more believable he'll be able to kill the Cybertronian.

Maybe so, but who says he's going to do that this time around.

By the way I don't begrudge him taking a decent-sized share of the profits from a movie he created. He certainly played his part in making them financially successful.

 

I don't care what happens in the movie. As long as it makes fanboys cry, I'll revel in its deliciousness.

 

I'm just not sure a monster budget is the best of plans. Lots of movie articles this year about how movie attendance was down this year to the worst levels in over a decade. The big 4th of July release The Last Airbender didn't place in the 10 earners and action in general wasn't doing too hot this year since the top three earning films were Alice In Wonderland, Toy Story 3, and Shrek Forever After.

Unless the current trend changes for some reason next year it could be harder to earn the big bucks for a third time. Just looks like in an age when value is the gold standard Hollywood missed the boat by increasing prices with 3D so people are saying heck I'll just stay home and watch TV. With increasing improvement in TV special effects it's starting to look like the place to turn for story telling.

Has potential, but let's hope with all the chaos going on, we see some actual teamwork and downtime with the autobots instead of them just laying around in alt modes.
