Actually, from the clearer pics, it look as though he does actually have a pretty big spoiler. Think Ferrari F50.

I'm aware that he has a spoiler. I'd just like it a whole lot more if it was in the Porshe-style. If they can do it for Legends class Jazz, why not deluxe?

It seems like the whole car mode is based more after the movie's Pontiac.

Ah, I see what you mean now. Yeah, I also would've liked a more porsche-y car, but what're ya gonna do.

Whine and moan about it, obviously!

I know it's not Hasbro's job to cater to me personally, but it always kills me when they get important details wrong. This is the only classics Jazz there's ever gonna be. Of course what's hugely important to one person is trivial to another. A lot of G1 stuff meant nothing to me, while other aspects of G1 take on disproportionate significance.

Call me happy enough Jazz looks like HimG1self and doesn't appear to have that "muscle half of the outside of the car past half of the inside while hoping to a deity it doesn't pop off" transform design Universe Prowl does.

Prowl's not so bad once you figure out the trick to those front 1/4 panels. I dont actually have Prowl but I was playing with my Silverstreak the other day and figured out how to pop those out and spin them around then fold up for bot mode without actually having them pop off their ball joint. I was then able to TF him back to alt mode in a similar (reverse of course) manor and it worked out great. Gave me much more appreciation for an already great mold.

The spoiler seen on this Jazz toy seems to be similarly sized to spoilers that officially-modified Porsches have these days. Personally, I prefer spoilers and body kits to flow with the design of the car, rather than sticking out like a sore thumb.

The typical Porshe shape goes down at the back. The spoiler goes the other way. It's an attractive contrast. On the new Jazz figure, everything appears to go up at the back of the vehicle. There's no contrast between the body and the spoiler. I find it rather bland. It's just like so many other cars.

I think if we all could bear this in mind, we'd all be a lot more tolerant.

For instance, I honestly don't get what the big deal is with Jazz...for me, as long as you get the head and the paint scheme and having A spoiler right, the make of the car doesn't matter.

BUT, it will forever bother me that Bumblebee is no longer a Volkswagen Beetle. Why? Because that was my favorite car as a kid long, LONG before I ever heard of Transformers. That was the whole and entire reason that I even liked Bumblebee, until recent years.

I certainly can't complain that he's no longer a Beetle, because it's outside of Hasbro's power entirely. But the reason I'm getting WfC BB instead of Classics BB is because WfC BB looks like a Cybertronian version of a Beetle, rather than "generic tiny car"!

We all have our own things that are important. :)

Good for you. Years and Silverstreak and Smokescreen later, and I still dislike the general design.

when we going to see an update to trailbreaker,
I dont think he should be a redeco of an already excisting mold,
but he should be around the same size as inferno (stocky would suit him)

Bumblebee as a VW was also one of those things for me, and I'm just as happy as you are with the WFC altmode. I think it captures the spirit of the car(in some ways better than the new beetle did).

A VW Beetle just makes me smile. It's very non-threatening, non-aggressive, and there's something child-like about it. I felt everything about it totally encapsulated the character. Classics Bumblebee is a very well made figure, and an a reasonably faithful update to the character. But I won't deny I was disappointed that they couldn't do him as a Beetle.

Stuff that's unimportant to me would be the changes they made to things like classics Astrotrain. So long as he's still a shuttle and a train, it doesn't bother me in the slightest that he's no longer a steam locomotive.

Deluxe would be big enough for me. A Hoist/Trailbreaker mold seems like a no-brainer. I imagine so long as classics continues in some form, they'll get around to it eventually.

I'm sorry if I offend anybody by bringing this thread back up, but I did not see this before because I was on vacation at the time and it was buried under new news things by the time I got back. I only just found out about this, but WOW! I'm still floored by the fact none of this showed up at Comic Con! My thoughts:

-Jazz: Boy am I glad they didn't just retool the Prowl/etc. mold for possibly THE most clamored for Classics figure of all! Totally must get, if for no other reason than to replace the Movie G1-deco Jazz I have standing in for Classics Jazz.

-Scourge: I can't tell if that's supposed to be a Targetmaster gun or not, but the only difference that would make is between awesome and more awesome. Can't wait to see better pics of this guy, he looks promising (and people are gonna buy the HELL out of this guy anyhoo because of the Sweeps)

-G1 Legends: If I can find the little bastards (they are very hard to find in the wild/retail stores around here), they will all be mine! Especially Megatron above all simply to have a proper gun-former at last and not just mini-cons.

-Tracks: hideously mistransformed, as I can see what are supposed to be his missiles just hanging off the sides and his arms have to move out further from his body. However, that is so damn dead-on Tracks that I must see more of it.

-Grimstone & Dinobots: Look really nice, the crappy "claw" hands in previous PCC's actually work thematically for this guy in my opinion. Doesn't look a whole lot like "The Beast", just a whole lot better.

-Windcharger: Red muscle car scout is all I need to know and I'm sold.

-Perceptor: That Alt. mode looks like a red Trailbreaker on E. Snow Cat's chassis, can't say I'm too hot about it with those rear treads. However, bot mode looks decently enough like Perceptor at least, so I'll keep this guy on my radar for now.

-Steamhammer/Constructicons: Combined mode looks meh, as usual (not impressed with the different arm lengths, either), but the center bot looks good as a torso. I wonder how he'd look with a new paint job and if some Destructicons were mixed into the combined mode.

-Lugnut: OH HELL YES. The fact the tail section is hanging of his back somewhat worries me that he'll have Bulkhead syndrome again, but the rest of him is kick-ass. I really hope they also worked in the POKE this time, but regardless of the signature weapon I must have another Lugnut. He will be glorious upon my shelves, especially if I can get Highbrow as well (the two being obviously rivals given the WWII alt. modes)

-Thunderwing: Bot mode looks DEAD ON, not so much the alt. mode (hoping that's mistransformed as well). Will need to see better pictures of him, though, as I don't really care about him all that much.

-Grapple: I already own the Inferno mold, and while I try not to buy a mold more than once (excluding the Classics Seekers), Grapple looks really nice. He's also orange, my favorite color. And is that a retooled HAND I see on the left arm in addition to the new crane and head?

Lastly, it looks like there also will be a return of...RUBSIGNS! Aside from Scourge, all the Generations Figures have what look like Rubsigns on them (I can't see them on Jazz or Legends Optimus, but Jazz is missing a "4" on the left door and Optimus must have it on the left side, hidden from the camera). Even Grapple has one despite being HftD! Thank goodness they aren't due until next Spring, I need to save up money!

Blame VW for that. Something about "war toys". Don´t know the exact details.

The only figures I see rubsigns on are Windcharger and the Legends figures. They're also the only one's that have been announced to have them. It's kind of hard to see, but Jazz does have a 4 on the other door. His arm is covering most of it, but part of it is visible. Grapple looks like he has a black Autobot logo on the side of his vehicle. Not that we won't see any rubsigns on any other figures, just that I don't see any evidence of that happening just yet.

Volkswagen once stated that they didn't want any of their vehicles associated with war. While I agree with what they're attempting to do, I think that they're going a little far with it. Who knows, one day they might change their mind, and we'll finally get a new Bettle-bee, but till then, oh well. Bee as a Camaro or a generic compact car will do for the time being (imho).

No, they mean "Seventy-ish years ago, we made different vehicles, mostly for our government, for a purpose we'd really rather distance ourselves from these days."
