300 Members got the pcp. Another bunch is annoyed they didnt. Apparently funclub didnt make enough of this popular item. The demand was high and there are people upset. Nerd Raging about how they should have been notified at the exact second and that the time should be changed. Im happy 300 people got their chance at the figure. Unfortunately you cannot take 300 figures and give them to 600 people (or more). Some people are going to miss out. It happens.

I missed out the first time, glad I got it the second time around. Wish i was smart enough to pick up Cyclonus but at least I got P/CP.

I think FP did a pretty good job of letting people know, I got the email on a football feild and ordered it on my iphone a few minutes later. I'm suprised so many people missed out, 300 was a pretty large number to sell out to quick. But at least 300 more people got him, it should drive the ebay prices down for people who are holding onto him for a profit. They at least be cheeper now.

I wouldn't be surprised if they go up. Assuming 300 people who actually wanted P/CP purchased it yesterday, the quantity on the secondary market is unchanged. And those who were holding out for the second run and were unable to purchase it from the club store now have no other option but the secondary market. $200+ auctions would not surprise me in the least.

That does suck brother. :(  I have mine set up to text me when they post. Otherwise I would agree, I never check the stupid thing.

They sent out a tweet yesterday about SG Cyclonus being available too so I immediately jumped online just on assumption that P/CP was coming. I had him in my cart before they sent out the tweet he was available.

Same here. Following the BotCon twitter feed is useless if they release things while your asleep.

Ok, I can understand people like Trek who got the shipping stickershock the first time around and couldn't get anything worked out with a US member in the short time (feel bad for you buddy, I wouldn't be able to pull the trigger at that price either), or people who were out of town/don't have access to a computer when off work. But for the general masses, the first run had about a two day window for you to order as well as months of buildup leading up to its release. With the hype both from fans and FP's continuous "It is coming soon", money shouldn't have been an issue, and people should have known that there was a demand. I have learned in this hobby, with exclusives, you jump and ask how high later. There should have been enough of a window for anyone to purchase it the first go-around who had a computer access and a credit card.

If they charge over a hundred dollars for shipping internationally from TFCC, then buying P/CP marked up from a scalper should not be an issue. Heck that might even be cheaper than buying it from the club.

I was one of the lucky folk who managed to snag one after missing out the first time, but I will say this: not being at home isn't an excuse I'm really all that compassionate towards. I wasn't home when PCP went on sale either times, but this time my phone (not an iphone, I should mention) notified me of the Collectorsclub e-mail, and all I had to do was order him through my phone's browser. Easy-peasy. Most phones can do this, unless you have the $29.99 Bestbuy cell... ah well.

For those of you who got it, I hope you enjoy your Punch! or Counterpunch! However you choose to display yours! : )

Yep. I come to realise that too. At the moment I'm watching a couple of them on ebay that, with the shipping, are cheaper than it would have cost from the club.

Wonder if they could do pre-orders with non-refundable deposits to get an idea for the desired amount for a more accurate manufacturing run.

I'm not sure thats a good way to go. Some people wont want to drop money on an item if they havent seen pictures of it.

Funny how perception works. Coming from the art collecting world, having a three hour window to snag one of these guys was a major luxury in my book.

I collect the art prints of an artist named Audrey Kawasaki and she ALWAYS sells out in less than a minute. Not only do you have to contend with the thousands of people, you also have to cross your fingers that the website doesn't crash under the weight of all of those simultaneous refreshes. If you miss out, then you either move on or pay the up to 300% second market markup. That's the reality in that collecting world.

I'm sympathetic to those of you that have never had experiences with limited edition items but seriously, take this as a lesson learned. If it's limited and you want it, you need to make sure you have multiple avenues of being informed, have ready access to a computer and above all do not hesitate.

This really is a great post. To your point, I missed P/CP the first time due to work. This time, I had my wife, mother and brother all checking regularly while I was at work just in case. Not to mention checking my phone as regularly as I could. I didn't miss it.

I'm not wholly opposed to this idea, but I can't shake the memories of 3H's Transformers club and the never-produced Skywarp figure.

No thanks. I prefer my items to be in stock. Not 'pay for it 12 months in advance so we can determine demand before we even give the factory the go ahead to make it'. Exclusives are exactly that, exclusive. There is no way to please everyone and someone will always get left without a seat when the music stops. With that said, an order limit window and a revamp of the international shipping charges are a must.

Yeah im not sure what tfcc is thinking with those outrageous international prices. If they really dont want international members then dont allow international members to sign up. Don't screw them over with 300% shipping markups.

Am I getting this right? I'm in Canada and just joined and I have to a pay for a long distance fax to their Texas fax line and fax copies both sides of my credit card and photo ID? Does anyone else not see so many security breaches in this demand?

Crap in a Hat! I missed out on this figure again :(

Anyone got one that they'd be willing to offer to me?
