I was really meh about Shockwave's head at first, but now that I take a good look at it, I think it looks terrific. I just hope they get Corey Burton to voice him, like in Animated. His voice will ALWAYS be Shockwave's iconic voice to me.

 

Shockwave's head looks better than what I thought it was gonna be. Good to see it has a G1ish look to it. As for Soundwave, I'm kinda iffy on his mouth but it's nothing that'll like ruin him for me or anything.

 

Finally

I think it is ******ed that sound wave was a satellite in the first place, i mean i get that he is communications but he's kinda like megatrons right hand man... and the fact that he isn't a tape player i can live with because let's face it it's 2010, but the fact that he has a mouth just shows how michael bay is ruining transformers for me. I am glad that the movies are being made but jesus he is putting stuff that shouldn't be there where it is... he should have worked with high moon studios for the graphics so that the characters would look badass

 

why is everyone acting like this is the first time we've seen Soundwave? We saw his head in the second movie, complete with moving mouth. Everyone should have known about the mouth and gotten over it a year ago.  

 

Soundwave looks very bad, too ordinary and similar to other movie Decepticons (very much like Barricade in fact). It's curious that such a well-known Transformer would be be so altered when you look at say, Prime's (and now Shockwave's) design. It's not like they put a new unique spin on the character so they might as well have kept reasonably close to the (G1, not ROTF) original, IMO.

Pretty delighted with Shockwave on the other hand, no mistaking him at a glance, is there?

 

EXACTLY. What I don't get is, if they got it so close with Soundwave's ROTF design, why make it worse in the next one? They knew fans were happy with Soundwave's design in ROTF... why change it?

Eh good luck with that one. I've been barking up that tree about "Starscream" since 2007 and it only got me a bad rep....

As for these 2, I'm curious as to if Shocky possibly has a mouth of some sort beneath his optic. It certainly looks possible. Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I'm quite fond of Soundwave's huge gaping jaw. Especially since they're using a raw Dr. Claw voice this time. The voice fits the head quite well.

 

I didn't hear any complaints about it other than him not having a visor...

 

so shockwave is taller than soundwave strange i thought they where the same hight.

 

soundwaves head is pretty much the same as the rotf deluxe head i am holding it right now pretty much the same.

 

Tim Burton managed to give the headless horseman emotion and he was, get it, headless.
