    Well, here's my theory:

    Freebie: Sharkticon
Set #1: Double Punch (new head) & Slicer (filled in symbol)
Set #2: Rapido (new head) & Scorch & SG Ravage

If there's another 3 pack, then I doubt it'd be a SG figure as a freebie, since it has nothing to do with the theme for the convention.

    Updating my guesses:
This does however leave the G2 Redux storyline a bit lopsided in favor of 'cons. Actual convention toys-wise at least.

Why do you think that makes him not the freebie? SG Ravage is just the "accessory" that makes the otherwise-small U2 Hound mold a "full" deluxe.

Because that would make for 2 free figures instead of one. (sorta defeats the idea of a free figure (one) if you actually get two.

But it's not 2 separate figures. Ravage is just the 'accessory' of the mold. Dion and Cop-Tur are/"is" the free club figures/"figure" this year. So FP's already defeated that idea in one instance.

And what a 'defeat'... they say 'one' free figure, but give you 'two'... wow... I'd feel ripped off! /sarcasm

I think the salient detail of the 'free figure' is the 'free' part, not the implied singular figure part.

You're also missing a figure. By your logic, there should be one more deluxe...

I hope it's a homage to the G1 pretender Pincher

I really hope it's for BotCon. But why haven't we seen a picture already?

I'm guessing the larger toy is more difficult to steal.

I would probably go for a mass release G1 colors Scorp. Almost finished with my Black Zarak custom of the figure, should be pretty nice. :)

This makes sense as we haven't seen any loose samples of Clench either.

Ehh, that mold is horrible. He isn't really a scorpion, isn't really an excavator but a weird cross inbetween. And the ship mode is sucky. I could get past that, but the claw-arms are also very weird.

That said, I love Scorpy as a character, maybe my third favourite Con, he was awesome in the Budiansky and Furman comics. But I wish Hasbro would give us a new toy that actually transforms into a scorpion (let's try to forget the disgrace that was Movie Scorponok, not even a transformer at all)

Wow, I couldn't disagree more! One thing I LOVE about that mold is that he's a scorpion-shaped construction vehicle instead of an an actual scorpion. It gives the mode some logic, like it might almost make sense as a real (albeit futuristic) vehicle.

I see it this way: his scorpion "tail" blasts apart rock with a beam from overhead (kind of like the classic War of the Worlds ships) and then the dual shovel-claws work in conjunction, alternating, to clear the rubble quickly. It makes for a violent, explosive, efficient heavy-duty vehicle that would look right at home in a near-future sci-fi setting. It's a great mode for a Decepticon, big and powerful and combining two frequent 'Con go-to alt mode types (monsters and construction equipment).

I dunno... not being argumentative, this is just my opinion, but I love him. I think he was one of the high points of the Unicron Trilogy lines. Totally agree with you on the "ship mode" thing, though. That mode is pretty terrible, to the point where I don't really even think of him as a proper triple-changer.

Again, no offense intended, only proffering an opinion of respectful disagreement. :)

I dislike the mold's crippled arm articulation when you have the shoulders aligned properly.

    None taken. :)

I never had seen the toy or transformed him, just judging from pics, so I might need to take a closer look. For a "War Within" aka Pre-Earth mode I too can accept this mode, of course.

The Energon Scorponok figure is very impressive in hand. I never really thought much of it when seeing it in pictures, but in person, its really nice. As long as they don't royally screw up the look of it, I think that a repaint of this figure is a definite win for attendees.
