Anybody notice that if you are a scout and you pick up a soldier weapon that your character can't move as fast?

Put a few hours in, pretty addictive. Much more fun after leveling up a bit.
Is there a radar display im missing? Hard to tell where people are coming from.

The Autobot's firepower seems stronger than the Con's, always do better with them.

 

There doesn't seem to be one. And that's about the only thing I really hate about this, gameplay wise. Maybe I'm spoiled by the Halo games, but I like to know if someone's nearby.

Only other gripe I have is that Whirlwind special is a tad overpowered or something. Several times I got into a firefight with a Solider class and they pulled it out just before they died and killed me instead. Made no difference that was I backing up while shooting them as they spun, since Soldier's apparently become invincible during that move. I can deal with the damage it does, but the invincibilty on top of that just seem a little unfair. And I say this objectively, because I do enjoy playing Soldier class more than the Scouts.

I touched on this yesterday, but man is this demo buggy as hell. Me and 2 friends tried to play together last night, but the whole thing became an excercise in frustration. We got one game in and the demo went haywire on us after that. Kept trying to join a game and invite the other 2, one could get in, but it absolutely would not let the other join. Even when the game only contained like 4 people he still got "game is full or no longer available" error messages. On top of that me and the other guy were getting constantly booted and given connection error messages. Or if we managed to stay in it was laggy as hell. I'm talking standing still, but still sliding around all over the place. We gave up and played SSF4 instead.

I realize it's a demo and these things can happen, but damn even demos shouldn't be this jacked up.

 

Actually, Soldier's aren't invincible when using the Whirlwind. My best tip is to double jump as much as possible when someone's trying to bash your face face into a bajillion pieces with the whirlwind, and shoot at them while you're in the air. Unless they have the Flurry of Blows ability, you should be fine, and they shouldn't :} I recall a few times I managed to dodge a fair number of Whirlwinds yesterday and blasting the crap out of them. Blasted the crap out of them until they were dead, ha.

 

I played little bit of the demo so far and I love it. It takes some getting used too. I'm going try more tonight. Can't wait for the full game.

 

i was tryin to play last night, and had the same weird connection problems. I figured I was getting booted for sucking.

And then I gave it another go,and during a machine gun blast, the xbox froze and the machine gun noise kept going.

Hope that is not like that in the game.....................

i dont think they were expecting so many people to jump on this demo that quick so yeah. you're not alone! i been having connection problems with it off and on too, much like everyone else i know who's been playing it. so its not isolated!

 

That's not Megs, dude. Megatron is a "Leader" class. You're talking about the Decepticon soldier.

It's an upgrade, actually, in the full game. SatNav, or something like that. If you haven't gone throught he "Available in full version" upgrades, some of them will make this a MUCH bigger game.

 

Which is just Megatron's model, since Megatron is a tank and tanks can only be "Soldier" class.

 

In Multiplayer.

Characters from the Canon don't abide by these rules (see: Ratchet). Megs' character model is the basis for the MP "soldier" class, yes, but there are differences, even beyond the obvious arm cannon and head model. Clearly the fusion cannon will not "vanish" on Megatron, as the poster I quoted was complaining.

 

I just can't get over how awesome this game looks. I've not been into video games in a while, but wfc looks to be the thing to bring me back!

 

I think everyone was overestimating the dominance of scouts yesterday...nearly every match I've been in has been dominated by the soldier class.

 

Unless Megatron changes his weapons, which the game encourages you to do.

 

it's a very big improvement over the ROTF game, and this is one of the first games i've got a 10 kill streak on! XD (usually i'm terrible at shooters)

Alt. Mode that looks like Megatron's: Check
Megatron-esque voice: Check

Unless Megatron turns into a truck (which is the main vehicle mode for the Leader class) then he's in the soldier catagory since he turns into a tank.

 

Oh thank god. I'll be getting that upgrade ASAP then.

 

Not here. I usually can turn the tide with the scouts. Of course this will probably all change when the other two classes are added.
