Finally a question that is really interesting! Of course the answer is so vague but maybe Botcon will help clear it up.

so to translate the HAsbro-speak via Translate-o-tron

Q1 answer - We're just repeating back what you asked us without answering the question AND YOU WILL STILL LOVE US FOR IT.

Q2 answer - We want your money, don't think you're getting out of buying another 2 or 3 primes and a dozen bumblebees for movie three. They'll be new or painted differently you will buy them

I got HA Mudflap from HTS. Has he not shown up at retail yet?
Anyway, I never thought of the idea of HA 70's BB. Love that idea! Maybe with Bobby Bolivia? (RIP BM)

They sold out quickly at HTS. I missed that boat. I've gotten one from an eBay seller for close to retail though (it's in transit as I type).

That would be totally rad! Honestly, I just started scraping the bottom of the barrel for vehicles that were used. I guess if I wanted to go further, I'd dig for a HA Landmine and HA Stockade from movie 1, seeing as we got deluxes of both of them and the vehicles were at least used. A HA Dispensor would rule my TF world.

Yep. As stated, I've yet to see it. I'm sure after I get mine in the mail, the retail stores will explode. You're welcome, fandom :lol

Our sister site, Toyark.com, got their questions in as well. Unfortunately, they really didn't answer the first question and took the "too many to list" approach.

Which I thought was a bit of a cop-out. They could have at least thrown out a couple names, followed by "many, many more". I have to believe they have a short list of some kind.

SQ7 = Always taking one for the team ;)

Nightbird was created by humans on Earth. Definitely not one of the 13. Elita-1, Arcee and the Paradrons about about the same age as Optimus, so not any of them either.

Chances are, the "female warrior" is probably the basis of the entire feminine side of the Cybertronian race and isn't a currently known character.

Maccadam would definitely be awesome, especially since we might actually get to see what he looks like for once. I'd probably faint if a toy ever got announced.

Yeah I'd love that like a Star Wars fan with a Turbo Tank.

I still hold that the modifications they make to the 'Main Characters' in the movies each time - such as Prime getting an extra gun and sword in ROTF.
and how those sort of changes are not always detailed in the toys means to me it makes more sense to delay a chracter like Optimus or Megatron until after they've seen the movie and have it in full to use as a reference source.

I'd rather have a repaint of ROTF Optimus (say in nightwatch colors or in Ultra Magnus colors) as a Wave 1 Optimus - then get a really true representation 9 months later. than them have to bodge one up based on incomplete info.

If they for example give Optimus vehicle mode weapons in the movie - but the toys lacks them then that would make the toy a partial waste of effort.

I hold that it makes more sense to either have another go at Megatron (and do him properly this time) asuming he's unchanged from the 2nd movie.

Or make a character like Grindor/Blackout - who'd automatically repaint friendly.

For crying out loud BONECRUSHER is in both movies and the Helicopter is in both too split between Gindor and Blackout.

So they need a decent sized toy - I'd like to see at least a Voyager Bonecrusher and ideally a leader, and Blackout would be best as a 60.00 toy. but a Leader would do.

I don't need another bunch of Optimus again when I've still not got a decent representation of them.

And that's even without wondering how nice many of the Construction Transformers would be in another size.

Like Voyager Overload, Rampage, Hightower or Scrapper. and a Leader Mixmaster or Longhaul might even work quite well too.

I bet that the fans would be a lot more interested by and enthusiastic by Hasbro admiting they made a mistake not making a Proper combining Devastator and redesigned them all to scale (including the tiny ones) so they can combine..... it's really not as hard as they like to pretend it is. the Non-robot mode and the Legends one sort of show that it's not that hard to slap thigngs together in a way that works. and the bigger they are the better they'd work.

I think Overload would make a very interesting design (as he looks rather like a Star Trek Tholian) and they could even give him two robot modes a bipedal and an arachnid one.

Anyway the point is that if they don't have the reference - fill up those slots with things like Overload or Bonecrusher or Scrapper in preference to giving us a substandard design based on poor reference.

It's not a good idea to rush things it leads to mistakes and flaws like with them misunderstanding Sideways' Transformation or making Jolt not lock down properly in robot mode.

They should have enough reference for the characters from the 1st two movies to use them in earlier waves more.

If they were using strong characters that are actually in the movie in later waves that would actually help extend their sales envelope... but then some might argue that making Megatron green was not exactly a big help really.

Hey Repugnus,I realize that some of them may be wrong but thats what I read. And as for
Vector Prime from the show he said he was one of the first ones built, not that he actually
    was one of the 13.

And Logos Prime/Soundblaster I agree with you,but seeing how Soundblaster was a
recolor of G1 Soundwave I figured since SB was Logos, that S'wave would unofficially be
    considered one of the 13.

Finally Optimus may not be but from the ROTF when Jetfire called him the last Prime was
foreshadowing something about him like he was one of the 13, and of the female warrior
I don't know who Prima is as I have never heard of her. But my last words are that some
may be wrong but we will find out eventually in the different stories.Oh and I am still
wanting to find out who they are ASAP.

    A couple of thoughts :

Soundwave and Noisemaze both may follow a 'Generic Template' for 'Planet X' Transformer so what we might have been lead to believe was Soundblaster- might have been the 1st Template of that race of Planet Xers - and another of the 13 could be the Noisemaze Template.

That might only apply in the TF Cybertron Universe though.

But I have to wonder if the idea of Planet X might actually work quite well with Unicron or with the idea of the Decepticon Empire - it might be like a 'War World'.

[A self mobile battlestation the size of a small planet] - it would be a good way of the Decepticon Empire's hierarchy to get about and allow a way for them to return that gets away the otherwise seperate in space that's quite large.

As I keep thinking they'll want to use them at some point.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also I maybe mad but I've always pondered that the Autobot Grapple is one actually of the 13.

And having godlike powers he's not aged like Kup and Ironhide have..

I also like to joke that is why he's 'The Autobot that wasn't there'. [Bit like Skids anytime there's a battle he's disappeared someplace]

When have they ever revealed brand new figures in a Q&A? Just wait until Botcon.

They revealed Generations Blurr, and some time back they were strongly hinting at a Wheeljack figure.

While asking about the GPS, I would've thrown in a question about reusing that old Proto Starscream mold. If it's gonna crumble, I wouldn't mind having it in Skywarp colours.

Because a extremely limited number of collectors buying extremely limited number of third party accesories TOTALLY means Hasbro is getting their WORLDWIDE GIGANTIC MARKET ass handed to 'em! Uh huh!

Vector Prime has been confirmed by multiple sources (Hasbro included) that he is indeed one of the original 13.

In the movie-verse, Optimus is said to be the last descendant of the Primes. He is not one of the original 13.

As for Prima, here is a bit of info on him.

    Exercise:

Go into your Transformers collection and count up the number of Hasbro products, and the number of non-Hasbro products. Award Hasbro half a point for KOs, as they did the engineering and presumably sold products to the KO company that you patronized. When you divide the former number by the latter, you will get a number greater than 1. That is the degree to which Hasbro is not having its ass kicked by you, let alone by the group of customers from whom they make their enormous profits.
