well we know that mold changes can happen without TCC consent like the Nightbeat ears thing either it accidentally got squeezed when making the molds from the prototype, or it was on purpose because somewhere along the line they were having clearance problems.

I can understand Nightbeat missing the ears, but an overall loss of sculpted detail just seems inexcusable and warrants a second attempt.

Now granted, here the 2 faces/head seems perfectly fine, it's just the black piece on top that seems to have lost some of it's details, especially on Counterpunch's area. The details just don't seem as crisp or defined as everything else.

As for the head size, well, if that's the biggest they could go while still being able to fit it inside the chest then I can't be upset at them for that. They gotta work with what's been given to them.

I almost mistook it as a white test shot too, given how close it is to the concept drawings, but I saw a custom Swindle and Revoltech Ratchet in the background of one of the pics. My guess that it's a custom of Henkei Sunstreaker (chrome on engine block, spoiler and gun). Here, I'll attach all the images I have.

My point here is that it's not a clearance issue in which the head have to be smaller to fit inside, perhaps more of a mold issue. I'm hoping the faces can at least be a bit wider to give a better perception of size..

it's sad that someone eff'd up the Head as that can't be intentional, not when you consider how much importance has been placed on this figure.

I came really close to forking over the $100 for this guy when he became available. If this is the real deal, and I'm hoping for the sake of those that already paid for him that it's not, I'm so glad that I didn't. His head is tiny for one and the stickers on G1 CP's knees don't merit the purple and green back part of the car. Though I dig the license plate.

Others have stated that the pinhead is due to chest constraints, and yes that is an issue, but even if you take off Sunsteraker's "horns" his head is STILL bigger than this guy's. Again, I hope this is NOT the real thing.

The head is awful... It looks so bad that I wouldn't even buy the toy at retail price.

As stated before, the head looks small, but you know how perspective changes once it's in-hand.

I ABSOLUTELY can not WAIT for this.

Can that custom head fit in the body? It looks like it might not, as awesome as it is (unless the body was modded)

the custome will fit, as it's smaller than the black T-shaped piece that both sideswipe and sunstreaker's head sit on(one of the attached images in ki1983ng's post shows this)

I don't know why I'm a club member for years and pay a yearly fee when I can't even buy this exclusive. If your a club member you should be able to purchase a toy before a non-member. There should be a set limit to how many you can buy. If the club doesn't get anymore of these in, I don't think I'm going to renew my membership. Thanks Pete for making my club experience a non-enjoyable one.

    *sigh* Once again, with feeling.

NO non-members could buy these things. You have to become a member in order to buy them (even if admittedly you can become a member at that same moment).

As to limits, perhaps they'll consider that in the future. But given past precedent, there was no reason to think that such limits would do anything other than ensure that fewer toys were sold overall. That's a bad thing for everybody. Fewer toys sold = fewer toys made in the future = fewer fans even have the opportunity to buy them in the first place, whether through the club, eBay, or where ever.

Maybe limits within a certain grace period should be the way to go. The initial excitement and the speculative nature of this piece sent them flying out the door. Maybe for two weeks of the initial release, the limit should have been two pieces per member. That way some of the bigger stores can't just go in there and buy droves and droves of them to resell on their site without giving others a chance to buy some. After the grace period, the limits could be relieved and people can start buying all the leftover stock. I wouldn't be surprised if this goes for upwards of 100 bucks at the online stores once they ship. BBTS didn't want to put up pricing for preorders on P/CP to further drive up speculative prices on it.

I was in Singapore on vacation when the preorders for these went up at the club store and I was fortunate enough to be online at the time and just went for it. If I had checked when I had gotten back into the US, I would have not been able to get one.

Everyone's got ideas, but you have to sell what you have to sell. That's too much hassle for what they are trying to push. Especially for those members who wanted to buy more than 2 at a time. You think they are going to want to come back and pay double for shipping?

Outstanding. This mold is one of the more ingenious ones created, IMO. The head is a little small though. Kind of a head scratcher, but maybe thats a prototype, and the mass release3 will be tweaked a little bit. Especially in the head dept.
