Ugh, rage then sadness. Basically it makes me want to say the following. Attention everyone (particularly those under the age of 20): Many things happened on Earth before you were born. Look them up, be less stupid.
The facepalm pics in this thread are fucking hilarius! On a related note. This bitch is ignorant and needs to be shot...dear god she might actually reproduce. This nation is so boned in about 30 years.
so going by this, she is telling us that box office revenue is what says if a movie is good or not. if this is true, does this mean that she is admitting that the "worst" movie of the year, ROTF, is BETTER then twilight? *number 10, vs number 33: as of sat; feb 20th* Alright folks you heard it from her. Twilight < ROTF
Vampires/Werewolves are Ruined Forever! ok...maybe not...but god damn i hate Stephanie Mayers and her Fan-Fic garbage!
Quote for truth. ... I just wanna believe this'd be just an intentional joke. However, stupidity tends to surprise.
Lets not kid ourselves though. I'm sure we've got numerous fans of this type in our little community too, and I seem to remember quite a few railing against Terminator Salvation for ripping off transforming robots from Transformers just to name one example. So yes, this is very funny and entertaining. But it is also VERY representative of the mindset that extremely young and naive fanboys/girls have when it comes to their favorite franchise and the its relationship with the genre it resides within.
but the big difference is that Transforming robots are a lot more recent and rare than vampire/werewolf lore. We have a valid point in the fact the Terminators never transformed before and Transformers/Gobots have a history of robots changing long before Terminator Salvation.
Technically, the Terminators didn't transform. They just kinda rested inside each other. If I recall the complaint was that they had really large robots much like Omega Supreme. Though Voltron and Super Sentai fans way back when could have claimed Transformers/gobots were a rip-off of them. Transformers may have perfect the idea of transforming robots, but they never owned the idea. Though that's not really the point, and that is every fandom has those rabid fans that are either ignorant of a genre's past or they believe for whatever reason that the franchise has a monopoly on a idea. So all the "gah Twilight sucks see the harmz its doin" people here are wrong. The problem isn't the franchise, it's just those idiot fans whom are usually the most vocal that are the problem. At least they're entertaining.
The franchise itself is garbage, but i understand what you are saying, but yea......twilight fans have surpassed star trek fans in OMGWTFitude
I wouldn't call it high art, but I wouldn't call it garbage either. It's a fad, pure and simple. All the tween and teenage girls going gaga over will eventually abandon it for the next fad just like they did with Harry Potter. But yeah, it's that OMGWTFitude that is disheartening with fanbases like Twilight and Harry Potter. They act like these series were the first to invent witchcraft, werewolves, and vampires because they just don't know any better. They're only invest into that particular franchise, not the genre. Being young only makes that attitude even worse. I took a date to see The Wolfman friday. She knew nothing about it, never knew that it was remake of a classic film, and told me the reason she was seeing cause it had Agent Smith in it. And she was like 26. Needless to say I'm not going back out with her again.
Got a laugh out of it, but I'm not surprised. It's very similar to younger folks who'll hear a cover version of a song and not realise that someone else had done it first. But thinking the Wolfman rips off Twilight? A simple wiki search shows that the 2010 film is a remake of the one from 1941, that's 30 seconds or less of googling to stop yourself looking a complete twunt online.
It wasn't just the fans. In the ROTF commentary, Bay himself was bragging that Terminator ripped off the idea of giant robots so it would be more like Transformers. I don't recall him commenting on where the inspiration for Alice, the robot who disguised herself as a human in order to infiltrate and kill a guy, came from.
I believe it would be appropriate to post a (Pardon my english) Cunt Punt demotivational poster to express my thoughts and feelings towards the female who wrote this abomination.
