    Source?

Wouldn't at all surprise me though, what with packaging scans and loose figures showing up all over the place.

I have read second quarter 2010.

I think my date was on tformers.com, but I have nothing to back it up and absolutely no certainty that it wasn't another side.

As much I wasn't impressed with the new Starscream deluxe I think from the ROTF. I have to say that this NEW leader class ROTF starscream I am really excited about getting since it should have been released at the first anyway.

Hey are you guys worried about the gold plastic on his shoulders? There are rumors of possible GPS.

I'm sure Hasbro said they'd figured out their GPS problems and SS would be safe

GPS isn't an issue with modern Transformer figures. They've been using a new, much stronger, system for the plastic that would have suffered from GPS. Besides, Starscream here doesn't contain any plastic that, even back then, would suffer from GPS. He doesn't even appear to have any gold-tinted plastic on him anyways. The brown plastic used on him appears to be gold in some shots due to the lighting. Also, there aren't any real rumors of possible GPS issues with this figure, it's just fans worrying too much about something that's no longer an issue.

Yes it is. my god, is it ever.

my 2007 protoform starscream cracked at every joint and screw point, and his knees recently fell apart and had to be glued back together. he's just for display and occasional transforming, and he still crumbled.

hasbro's 10th anniversary BW Dinobot likes to shatter as well. and he's brown. not gold.

yes, GPS still exists, and is still very much an issue.

But we don't know if starscream will have the problem, and we likely won't know until a year or so after his release.

Very silly marketing indeed, thnx on the sig!;)  If it were up to me, id release this before christmas so everyone can still chime in and get as many Starscreams for their kids and the fans vs. some random date next fall?? Doesnt sound accurate to me with all these videos and many different types of photos of SS we are getting for the past month and a half. Why even bother teasing the world with it now??
I wonder how long Hasbro will make us wait..I am for sure getting this and Radiconing it up. Now all we'd need is a FLIPPIN Leader Class Blackout/Grindor so we can all rest in peace about that subject.
And on a side note, I cant wait till someone does a really good stop motion vid of the forest scene!!! Sick done right!!

Well, probably Hasbro needs to clear up their shelfwarmers first. Supreme Devastator sure isn't selling. :D

I'm sorry, but I think Hasbro should be glad you're not on their marketing department ;)

It makes perfect sense stores/Hasbro would use the holiday season to get rid of the current stocks of ROTF toys (and maybe some left over Animated and movie 1 stuff). Why put new stuff on the market when there's still enough to go round? More choice means more stock leftover.
Sell what you have now + introduce Starscream later. If you put Starscream on the market now, it's going to compete with other TF toys, especially a leader Megatron, which they need to get rid of.

Also, Hasbro isn't teasing/hyping anyone. They didn't release pics of the box, or give video reviews of the toy. The only way Hasbro has shown Starcream is as a grey prototype teaser, and on the ROTF bonus dvd (which probably was because that was the character they were currently working on anyway when they were there for filming). None of this matters for the 'masses' anyway.

I didn't expect Takara would go Yamato route!
