This definitely looks like one MP to grab for the collection... even though some of you are saying that Hasbro is going to release a stateside version (easier on the wallet, maybe?). Knowing them, they'll probably release the figure here in similar packaging to what Hasbro MP Starscream was boxed in and some off paint scheme (hopefully not G-2 colors) and maybe with a light wash (as seen in the panel lines, like SS). Either way, both robot and alt. modes look incredibly accurate to the original figure and animated series, totally justifying the purchase.:thumbs2:

Really? I seem to remember my MP Convoy costing about £70-80 at release, at the time that was about $120-150, Hasbro release was what $50-60? MP Seekers about £60 each which at the time Hasbros SS came out was $120, Hasbros SS was $50 wasn't it? Unless Im getting my maths wrong I'm failing to see your point here?

    Your American prices are incorrect.

I paid $100 US each for the two MP-01 Convoys I purchased (not including shipping) and the Hasbro version retailed for about that much (and had stubby smoke stacks, to boot).

MP-03 Starscream was about $100 US, give or take. Hasbro's Starscream didn't retail for $100 US, but it wasn't much less expensive. I'm not positive about the exact price, mainly due to the fact that I can't recall ever being able to find him in an actual store and eBay prices were hyper-inflated.

^ I remember seeing the original 20th Optimus Prime at TRU for $100. The DVD edition that came out a couple years later was sold at $69.99.

MP Starscream had an MSRP of $59.99 but was sold at many Walmarts for $48 and change.

I really don't know how much Grimlock will be priced at. I'm leaning more towards the $69.99 range.

Everyone keeps saying a domestic release of MP Grimlock is inevitable but I don't know if its the type of product that Hasbro should be releasing in this economy. Look at how crappy the G1 reissue sold. On the other hand, it is a collector's item, catered to collectors. Beats me.

I bought MP Prime and Starscream at Walmart for $52.99 each. If Hasbruh makes it, it will be cheap..in like 2011.

But I'm still looking for a MP Grimlock photo that shows how well that bigass dinosaur head folds up behind him in robot mode. Make no mistake, I'm buying it. Just wondering if he looks ******ed from the back.

True, and the Walmart SS was a much inferior product--all three of the ones I bought for repaints had issues not seen on the Takara versions. That said, if Hasbro does release one, it will be cheaper in 2 years or so than the true MP version.

Which is the exact opposite for me. Of the 3 Takara SSs I've taken out of the box, all had the wing root cracks, two had horrible paint on the diecast nose section, one had horribly applied/smeared glue on the nosecone and canopy, and one was missing a finger. On the other hand, the 2 Hasbro ones I've messed with were pretty much perfect and defect free save for the excessive (yet easily removed) weathering.

Usual great MP packaging, I do like the MP boxes. And the toy itself is killer... it's a long wait between new MPs, looking forward to this shipping.
