Or I could trade an extra set to a Japanese vendor at the convention for the usual $600 or so in trade...

Sales are doing well? Excellent, just as I figured.

I meant to say that it's a possibility that people may say "Eh" to it and would no longer have interest.

I'm not thinking that this is going to bode well for FP if they have 400 loose sets this year. Then again, people might purchase the loose sets quicker this year due to the price difference of that and the box set. Does anyone know what the total number of box sets they produced for this year is? If it's 400 and higher I think they might have a problem selling out of them.

    I know.
Again, I simply don't agree. But we'll just have to wait and see.
For the past few years now, FP hasn't released numbers of box sets until later. You can look at my datasheet, where I list sources (hover over the asterisk or click the relevant link), to find out when they've released this data the past few years. Often, it hasn't been revealed until the convention itself, listed on the Certificate of Authenticity that comes with the box set.

I dont think it's selling so fast because of Kup.:)

My excitement is all for Thunderclash.

And it occurred to me that Brian said on the TFCC board something that suggested that there might be 3 sets of add on's this years. Care to comment?

I didn't buy a set for Kup, but on the trust from years of experience with FP on the ones I haven't seen yet.

I must have missed that one. Which topic (so that I can find the reference, myself)?

In the now totally off topic censorship and troll thread.
Souvenir C, could mean anything, could be hes just over exagerating as he does add etc, could refer to tshirts or whatever, or maybe the attendee toy. It was in reference to my question about add ons though and we've never had more than two so it struck me as odd.

I'm sure that's just a generic reference to posters, hats, beer mugs, general swag like that. Good eye though.

Same here. I'm a little underwhelmed by Kup as an individual figure, but I have faith that the set as a whole will be both impressive and cohesive. FP has consistently delivered cool, creative sets for years now, and I feel confident this one will ultimately win me over in a big way. I ordered the set based on that assumption.

To Pete specifically, I hope you don't take the complaints about Kup or the set personally. You guys are working within a lot of frustrating limitations, I'm sure, and it is difficult to please everyone in such a fickle and opinionated fanbase. So please don't take the griping (mine included) to heart. I'm really looking forward to the set, and I appreciate the time and thought you guys put into these figures each year. :)

Im not expecting to now find there will be an extra set, but given the context of the question I asked and the very specific and detailed answer from Brian that I took the quote from we were definetly talking about just the toy add ons, so, as I said, odd.

Thank you! I do not take it personally and I know everyone has different tastes and honestly? I dig Kup! But I think this set, while working very well as a theme, also has different aspects that will appeal to different people and tastes...

All that said, Transformers: BotCon 2009!

Heh, here's a homemade custom that looks like a factory produced figure.
