The Henkei version is much better (like it is almost all the time) but I already own the Universe version and I do not see myself purchasing the same figure with a few minor changes. Plus, I am sure reprolabels will release an upgrade set for Universe Hound.
Like the silver rims, autobot logo, and grey thighs. Deeper green is more G1 too. But don't like the yellow stripes, the red knee, and the triple price compare to the Hasbro's. The light green on the Hasbro is actually pretty good too, and matches the bright colors of the rest of the Classics & Henkeis better. I'll keep my Hasbro one.
Triple Price?? i paid less for mine from BBTS than i did for my Universe 2.0 version form a US seller on e-bay with shipping.
The BBTS Henkei hound is $25 before shipping. Which means you paid over $25 for a Uni2.0 Hound that can be had for $10 at retail. It's pretty silly to try and prove someone's "1/3rd the price" argument wrong when you dramatically over paid for your Hound figure. I'm gonna go buy the U.S. MP Starscream for $300 and then let everyone know that it's more expensive than MP Greenscream....
No he paid over $25 Dollars for a Henkei Hound which can not be found at retail anywhere in the U.S. with out some kinda of markup. It's pretty silly to even make a price versus value arguement when you are talking to a global community. People always loose perspective of the fact that situations are different for every collector here especially when it comes to cost and availibility. You either like a toy or you don't but dont judge it or others by how much it will cost you and whether or not you can afford it
It's half-and-half for me regarding what elements I like better on Henkei or Universe Hound. ... Which translates to - not bothering with Henkei.
You may as well summarize this, and put it into your forum Signature. You will be repeating this same sentiment in almost every thread. Save yourself some typing.
i was just looking at some pics of universe hound and after seeing these henkei hound pics,it just seems like an unfinished proto or something. not even close imo.
Everything else is ok..except for the yellow stripe. but other than that I'll still be getting it. The deeper shade of green looks even better than Hasbro's one.
Because TAKARA primarily caters to adult collectors, and HASBRO caters to children. Adults prefer a Henkei Hound with an identical G1 Hound paint job, and children prefer a bright green Universe Hound. Children like shiny bright things.
