Yeah, I noticed that too. I'm glad I got my preorders in for Dinobot and Cyclonus when they were still the 'bargain' price of $24.99.

Will there be a new head sculpt for Red Alert?

I've read that post three times now, and I still don't know what it's on about.

In any case, this is the VERY first time that a Henkei transformer has been so much better than the Hasbro version that I felt the necessity to order. (Well, Astrotrain came close, but I still didn't pull the trigger.) Henkei Smokescreen is leaps and bounds better than the US deco. No more obnoxious yellow detailing, no more fucked-up font numbering. Just a fine looking figure. And if it's going to be more than a six month wait for Red Alert to be released in Universe, then Henkei will have to be mine as well.

    I sincerely doubt it.

I do expect Red Alert will have a lightbar one way or another, though. The lightbar pieces seem to be a part not directly limited to a specific mold, if Prowl and Ratchet are an indication, so one of those could be nailed, screwed, or glued to the roof of the Lambo mold. At worst, the side-vents of the engine attachment could be painted red for an ersatz light bar.

...wait. Re: lightbars, isn't there an area on the roof where a lightbar could be pegged in?

Finally, we have news of Henkei Smokescreen... and with Red Alert too! I really like the colour scheme of Henkei Smokescreen better than the Universe Classics, and for once, the spoiler is not chromed. Surprise, surprise.
Red Alert looks pretty hot too. April'09 cannot come fast enough...

yep, but if my sideswipe and sunstreaker are anything to go by it would be way to loose. as stated further up, needs to be screwed/glued and i think takara can do it. i hope takara continue with henkei further, but who's left? ironhide as trailbreaker????

Well that's great. Now I don't know what to do with my Red Alert kitbash. :p  Whether I should keep the kitbash and ignore this or get rid of the kitbash and get this or keep the kitbash and get this one anyway. :p

Smokescreen, I think I'll just stick with my Universe one when it comes out.

I don't think so. You never know though.

Grapple from Inferno is still one, or Artfire from Inferno.

But Universe Inferno doesn't have a ladder though and is unmistakenably a fire engine. A 100% much more so than his G1 toy.

I think remolding Inferno with a crane isn't too outside the realm of possibility. But if they decide against that route, the next logical character is Hot Spot (Zone)

I'd say that's pretty likely. Given that Ironhide was given Skids head sculpt.

From the first two years, we're still missing

    JAZZ (please new mold!)
    TRAILBREAKER
    TRACKS
    SKIDS (Ironhide repaint is fine)
HOIST (make Trailbreaker with Hoist in mind)
GRAPPLE (hopefully Inferno is made with Grapple in mind)

    Then they can do

    RICOCHET (out of Jazz)
    AUTOFIRE (out of Inferno)
    CLAMPDOWN (out of Red Alert)
    DEEPCOVER (out of Sideswipe)
    ROAD RAGE (out of Tracks)
    CROSSCUT (out of Ironhide)
    SUNSTORM (out of Starscream)

    *whew*

I seriously think Grapple would look like a yellow fire engine with a crane attached instead of a ladder. And if they could have added a ladder to Inferno, I am sure they would have done - another reason why I don't think they will remold Inferno into Grapple this time.
