    Huh. Heat, meet kitchen.

I got a decent Cosmos fix in the GI Joe/TF crossover, when he and Flint invaded Unicron and were attacted by Unicron's immune system, made up of Battle Beasts.

    It was head-swimmingly wacky.

New cover art has been posted: RyallTime: Drift 2: Electric Boogaloo

Not quite as impressed with this one as the last - I think it's clear he's themed from a Japanese POV, no need to elaborate more. That said, "Electric Boogaloo" is always a phrase that makes me lawl! :p

Ryall also acknowledged how many angry posts there were for the last one on his blog... Some people really need to lessen their sugar intake, methinks. I know people are upset over him getting more attention than fanfave characters - And I'm still not convinced he needs a Spotlight of his own if he's the star of AHM - But lets all see what the hell happens between now and then, huh?

He's shaping up to be Shane McCarthy's own Mary-Sue character for his IDW-verse. :(

So, Drift's only appeared in AHM #5, right? Tell me then, where the crap did he come from in the first place? Maybe this Spotlight is to explain where he comes into where he is with the Wreckers in AHM #5.

All I know is that Cover #2 has made this guy a must-buy for me, especialy if he ends up in Alternator size, which would just be icing on the top. Hell, I may even buy one for my GF since her fav. movie of all time is TFATF: Tokyo Drift.

I think this is just going to fill out the character, who will be revealed as the traitor in AHM.

Awww man the ART is absolutely gorgeous in both of the Covers.

They are a must own for me :D

Btw. the main reasoning behind why I like this character is simple: "He's fresh, new and the possibilities with him are endless. I like the fact there is a brand new character who get's all the love it's about time. I'm sick of all the typical staple characters hogging all the limelight it's time for them to take a break for a bit and let the young bloods have some of that light. GO GET'EM DRIFT!!!

Both covers are very nice. Drift sorta looks bland in vehicle mode from a top-down perspective, though.

I don't see why people are angry that IDW is introducing new characters. Cybertron is a freakin planet! There is room for millions of Cybertronians to be introduced. Otherwise, Cybertron would be an empty place.

Hasbro gives us brand new characters regularly and there isn't this sort of response.

I think people are just jealous that Shane was able to introduce a new character into the official mythos and the average fan can't. Period.

Hey guys I had this crazy idea - I'm going to read the Spotlight before knowing if it's total shit or not! OMG! HAX!

To be honest a lot of the G1 dudes are blank slates that the writers just slap a personality on. If we can get a Spotlight Ramjet, Wheelie (which was awesome) and Blurr then I'm sure we can let Spotlight Desu-Pocky-Drift-San slip through.

Oh wow. IDW's Shane McCarthy gets his own Mary-Sue into a Spotlight... can't say that I'm shocked here. I haven't liked anything Shane's done thus far and I'm pretty sure I won't like this either...

I will, however, say that I'm interested in the toy... if it actually becomes a toy. I mean, IDW was all 'balls to the walls' about announcing him as a toy, but Hasbro hasn't said a dang thing about him if memory serves. Still, I am interested to see the toy.

Nah, I just think Shane's kind of a crap writer from everything I've read of his thus far (and I have been giving it a chance). Soooo... it doesn't give me much hope for the character. Like I said... interested to see how the toy turns out, because (cliche bits aside) it does look like an interesting art design.

A more accurate comparison would be the response to Sunstorm in Dreamwave's book.

What you say? That's crazy talk! :p

QFT, BTW... Just adding to this, I have no doubt it'll be an enjoyable read - I've not yet been disappointed in McCarthy's work - My overall complaint is the nessessity of a Spotlight: Drift if he's going to be all over AHM like a rash anyways.

For the record, I like Sunstorm... He deserved to be more than a lead into a much bigger story, IMHO.

:lol  On a side note, i find it fascinating that you equate the new guy to Snake-Eyes/ala Star Saber with a hint of 2F2F! Woah, maybe you hit the nail right on the head there! A Silent/ ninja-esque assissin! FTW! c:rock
