    Part 2 of 4
Caught. Cuffed. Convicted. Cal McDonald has had more tangles with the law in recent years than he can count, but he's never been a truly wanted man until now. Apparently all it takes is one dirty D.A. with a Cal-shaped chip on his shoulder and a horde of L.A.'s finest on his side to frame and sentence a (mostly) innocent man on a series of trumped-up charges. But what happens when the grittiest former cop in the world checks in for a long stay at the Graybar Hotel? And exactly how long do you think Cal will last in the general population before he gets thrown into solitary? Place your bets, boys and ghouls-the odds are stacked against Cal on this game, but don't expect him to fold...

HELLBOY: WILD HUNT #1 (of 8)

    Publisher:
    Dark Horse Comics
    Writers: Mike Mignola
    Pencils: Duncan Fegredo
    Covers: Mike Mignola
    Colorists: Dave Stewart

    Part 1 of 8
When ancient giants begin to rise from their graves across England, Hellboy is invited to join a mysterious group called the Wild Hunt and help bring them down. But the hunt leads to betrayal, and Hellboy finds himself up against enemies as angry about what he is as what he's done. "The fading children of the earth" gather in the shadows, waiting for the promised return of the Queen of Blood, and a chance to once again "shake the trees, crack mountains, and make the daytime world weep in fear."

    * Hot on the heels of the 2008 summer film release Hellboy II: The Golden Army, Mike Mignola and Duncan Fegredo reunite with the follow-up to events set in motion in their 2007 Hellboy miniseries Darkness Calls.

    KULL #2

    Publisher:
    Dark Horse Comics
    Writers: Arvid Nelson
    Pencils: Will Conrad
    Covers: Andy Brase
    Colorists: José Villarrubia

Before the blood from his last battle has a chance to soak into Valusian soil, Kull faces new threats to his throne. As representatives from all corners of his kingdom seek his counsel, the new warrior-king accepts a strange invitation from a hotheaded Pict emissary. Kull will need to discard ancient prejudices and find allies in former foes if he's to save the newly united Valusian empire from a clandestine enemy that once threatened to enslave and exterminate mankind!

With critically acclaimed writer Arvid Nelson (Rex Mundi, Joker's Asylum) fan-favorite artist Will Conrad (Conan, Serenity), and coloring maestro José Villarrubia (Conan the Cimmerian) at the helm, Kull is a welcome addition to Dark Horse's Robert E. Howard comic book line--and one of the smartest new adventure series of 2008!

    Praise for Arvid Nelson:

"Truly original ideas are worth their weight in gold, but a truly original idea executed with as much intelligence and obvious passion as Rex Mundi is priceless. A top-of-the-stack comic, month after month." -Brian K. Vaughn

    "Nelson compellingly stretches the medium."

    SOLOMON KANE VOLUME 2 #3

    Publisher:
    Dark Horse Comics
    Writers: Scott Allie
    Pencils: Mario Guevara
    Covers: John Cassaday
    Inkers: Dave Stewart

With more dead bodies discovered around the fabled Castle of the Devil, the determined Puritan adventurer Solomon Kane and his new ally John Silent look for answers in a pile of ancient bones buried deep in the abbey beneath Baron von Staler's fortress. The Baroness is missing, and the Baron accuses Solomon Kane. Tempers flare, and blades are drawn-but the real monster remains unseen.

    * Expanding upon Robert E. Howard's unfinished "Castle of the Devil" story.

"Solomon Kane is one of the toughest Robert E. Howard heroes to adapt to the comics page, but Scott Allie and Mario Guevara have done a stunning job. Unsettling, moody and eerily beautiful, their Kane is absolutely worthy of his creator." -Kurt Busiek

JINGLE BELLE: SANTA CLAUS VS FRANKENSTEIN

    Publisher:
    Image Comics/Top Cow
    Writers: Paul Dini
    Pencils: Stephanie Gladden
    Covers: Stephanie Gladden, Greg Horn

Paul Dini’s JINGLE BELLE comes to Top Cow in a special “Halloween collides with Christmas” one-shot written by Dini and drawn by Stephanie Gladden (POWERPUFF GIRLS, CHOWDER, HOPSTER’S TRACKS). This kicks off the brand-new Dinicartoons imprint at Top Cow.

Inspired by Mary Shelley’s original novel (sort of), the story of Frankenstein’s monster takes a new twist when he is found by Jingle in the Arctic wastes and “rehabilitated” to fit in with the elves at Santa’s Workshop. All goes well until an ultra-PC city declares Santa Claus taboo and awakens Frankie’s monstrous side in a misguided attempt to help his friend. It’s up to an ailing Santa and a reluctant Jingle Belle to stop their monstrous “apprentice” before he destroys the town and ruins the reputation of Christmas forever!

One that won’t exist, if you succeed. That’s the choice Lucas Bishop had to make it—and he’d make it again, in a heartbeat. He’s been captured by X-Force, but it’s all part of the plan. We all remember when the Scarlet Witch uttered the three words that would change the landscape of the Marvel Universe: “No More Mutants!” But what if she said something different? And what of the consequences…? In a world without great power, who bears the burden of responsibility? Who will stand up to an enemy who fills the vacuum of power and whose hatred is unparalleled? Brian Reed (SECRET INVASION: FRONT LINE) with Marvel's own Jim McCann and brand-spankin’ new artist Paolo Pantalena answer the question: "What if Scarlet Witch had ended the HOUSE OF M by saying "NO MORE POWERS!" Also featuring Part 1 of a special five part back-up story in all the What Ifs this year, in which we see Iron Lad take a different path that leads him to recruit a different set of future Avengers. Join C.B. Cebulski (X-MEN: DIVIDED WE STAND, LONERS) and Patrick Spaziante (MUTIES, Sonic The Hedgehog) as they ask, 'What if the Runaways Became the Young Avengers?'

    Part 3 of 4
Stranded on an asteroid populated by gigantic, ravenous, man-eating space worms, things finally start to look up for our small band of survivors when they are rescued by a group of robot miners. When the robots reveal they have a working spaceship, our heroes finally see a way off the asteroid. The alien ship is capable of running on plain water, of which our team has more than enough of back at their destroyed vessel. As they form into small teams to recover the H20, Atom continues to have bizarre physical reactions from his exposure to the mysterious alien crystals. Evelyn has similar reactions when she is “infected” by the crystals during a battle with the worms. While trying to evade the creatures, Atom and Evelyn take a detour through a tunnel that leads them straight to the core of the asteroid. It is there they discover the well-hidden secret about the true purpose and nature of the asteroid. But in making this discovery, they have put Earth itself at risk and forever altered the course of humanity.

"The coroner's men flipped the redheaded corpse over so Dukes and Magnus from Homicide could get a better look at her. 'Better' being a relative term in this case, with the claw marks that slashed her face into a featureless, bloody mask and turned her guts into a butcher shop explosion.

"'See this ink?' he said. 'Means she did time at this reform school upstate, run by this shrink, Xavier..."
