Have you not read this thread at all? Apparently it's working pretty damn well.

Still, just because the Soundwave thing was wrong, it doesn't prove that the rest is wrong.

I wonder how pissed Bay got at the leaked Megatron.

He's underestimating how many 'insiders' there are :lol

I think there are 3 insiders working as garbage collectors for Bay's office.

Oh man, garbage collectors, now that's reliable information! I could see them getting their hands on some documents but who's to say that they're not forged.

"Not working well" does not equal "not working at all".

We're currently talking about one piece of recently leaked information that apparently turned out to be misinformation. I wouldn't call that an "effective misinformation campaign" just yet.

There could be more than one piece as well.

Sure, but the way Orci said it doesn't work well, it sounds it's more like a hassle for them than actually being of much use.

I assume there's a lot of information leaking out they don't want to, which more or less buries their attempts at leaking out false information, and only a small percentage of the false information is actually picked up by the fandom.

(I just hope the misinformation doesn't actually end up screwing up the movie by having characters address each other by the wrong names and such.)

Proving even one piece of information false shows that their is information that could be fake.

I'm done arguing about this until after I see the movie.

    Good day sirs!

Remember when Bay claimed all the robot names in the first movie were aliases, and nobody would know the real names until the toy boxes were being printed?

And then he claimed, in the next sentence, that "Devastator" would not be the final name?

    Yeah, riiiiight.

lol at you guys still trying to give the insider credit...he was proven to have been giving false info...even if the soundwave thing is the only peice false that he has given....we wont know that till the movie comes...everything the insider has said and will say now MUST be taken with a grain of salt, there is no way to know if this person has thier facts straight or not - there is no way around that at this point

I still think Soundwave changing from a satellite to truck sounds weird; satellite to AWAK would have been better, in my opinion.

"In other postings, he stated that the "Fallen" in the title may be a robot, or just a synonym for the defeated side."

I said so awhile ago, but was told by others here that it was INDEED the "Fallen." LOL! Anyway, I don't care what they do so long as its written well and had good great action and acting.

I bet it'll turn out that Soundwave turns into a truck that looks like a pickup from some angles, but isn't actually a pickup. :p

    That was my thought Exactly.
That GMC Concept was almost a pickup truck but may be classified as an SUV, thus making the insider wrong.

While I appreciate Mr. Orci's contribution to the boards, he has done a lot of double-talk and non speak when it comes to answering questions. I dont think I've read anything that I could say he specifically has confirmed.

The Insider must have enough credentials to be trusted or I dont think the info provided would be posted as confirmed, but rather rumor instead.

I for one still think this whole misinformation campaign is doing for them the same thing as the early leaks last time.
It gives them a chance to fix things that have a massively bad fan reaction.
Fix it in production before the info is officially launched and then nobody has to look like a complete ass for making "crap"formers. Everything else is then just "concept art" or abandoned ideas.

Can You ask Him why they want to further screw up Transformers worse than they did the first time?

That was my take on it too. Like they're taking the time to make one or two pieces of misinformation to put out, but there's more real information that keeps leaking out with it.
