Since the robot image of the trax looks a lot like bumble bee and so did cliffjumpers old toy. . . that would make some kinda of logic right. I hope is not mirage. I would like for the volt to be but not the traxs feels wrong even for bay. Maybe the plate says muscle and cliffjumper is gunna be really strong so they dont have to put brawn it. Since that is all he was good for  .

What's there to do justice to? Skids was the biggest non-entity in G1. I defy you to tell me about Skids personality.

Skids is cool with me. I'm really more interested in bot mods right now, as are most I think. Names can mean anything in this movie-verse personality is where it's at.

Skids had an established character? I can't speak for the toy bio (he was never even released over here) but he had about 2 lines in the cartoon and spent a good chunk of the comic continuity in the limbo dimension while Galvatron was running around the late 1980s.

Did you have the same complaint when character names were re-used in previous continuities as well?

Skids is pretty sweet for usage. Wonder who the ICT really is now. Cause in my eyes that just upped the ante to him being a decepticon and not the beat and trax.

 

Only thing that comes to mind when I think of Skids is that he was sucked into some sort of horrible nightmare dimension, was trapped for a about a year, then returned as a mentally crippled wreck. Can't say much for his cartoon role, but you get the gist. So, if this is the Beat's confirmed bot, than it seems like a way to renew the copyright rather than get a proper character homage together.

But it is a tiny little hatchback. And I do like hatchbacks, even ones with truly bizarre styling and insufferably cramped seats.

Wasn't the Trax already revealed to look a bit like a smaller Bumblebee, à la Cliffjumper?

 

Here's hoping the script takes a note from the Marvel comics and we get a scene of Mikaela washing the Beat....

 

As an owner of a Xb I agree 10000000% but it would have to be dark blue and the new design... (That way it is one of MY car...)

 

I'd assume they used the name Skids as Skids is one of those "guys no one remembers", so they can potentially make him anyone or anything and there would be very little complaining about 'disrespecting the past' except from the very hardcore (who would complain anyway)

That said, I am all for sexy-time car wash fun!

It not like anybody outside of Bumblebee has come close to keeping their original color scheme. Even Prime, got his colors mostly swapped, with too much blue on the upper body, and too much red on his legs. Don't even get me started on the Hot Rod inspired paint job....

Skids was a Honda City Turbo sub-compact, but since those type of vehicles didn't exist in the US at the time, he was depicted as a minivan in Marvel-based US fiction (like the comics and the G1 cartoon)

The Marvel comics model still made him too big and van-like, because when I say sub-compact, I mean SUB-COMPACT  

A bit hard to do justice to a character that most people don't even remember existing due to his near total absence from the most well-known G1 fiction. Sure, he also appeared in the Marvel comic, but he disappeared into limbo as well.

Dude is essentially a blank slate.
