Nope, Region 2 PAL-encoded. Also, I'm pretty sure the Region 0 Headmasters is PAL-encoded and will require a compatible TV set.

 

WOOHOO this is great news for me as its the only one im missing as a official set. Cant wait for this. Only Beast Wars Second and Neo to go till every series is on a official dvd. In the UK RID is getting released again as a complete series set for £12.99 Or around $26USD. Well this is good news. I never saw much of Energon and always wanted to. I ended up really liking cybertron so I will get this and give it a shot! Now I just need to get the 1st half of Armada, currently I only have the 2nd half.

I also echo the RID sentiment. I LOVE that show and I really want it on DVD. Is there no way to get it region 1? I have a PS3 as my player and I hear they are region free players?!?!?! Any truth to that?

I mean it stinks that with this and animated season two all US Transformers Cartoons will be on DVD EXCEPT my favorite RID. C'mon Disney either give it back or realease it yourselves! Cash in on the Transformers Cow yourself!

sweet,,,,,,,,,I had a feeling it would be out later this year with Animated S2 following it,which means next year (2009)we will get TF G1 S1 and then followed by the TF2 movie in the theater followed by TF G1 S2 then TF2 the dvd release then ending the year with TF G1 S3 followed by Animated S4 (in early 2010) ,then (if we're lucky) in 2010 the release of RID...then we will get the Headmasters,Masterforce,Victory,Zone box sets (with new dubs with the original voice actors from gen 1 for headmasters with the correct translation and names on all the series )followed by BW2 and BW neo (new dub with correct translation and names) then after those releases (in 2011)we can get Animated S5 then Tf3 in the theaters ending with the TF3 dvd release..then we will have everything released "officially" by the time of the last movie release...then they can release the Gobots box sets in 2012

 

That's certainly, uh, optimistic.  

 

Shit! I did a search of "Energon DVD" for the board and got nothing back So I posted it as news. Thought for once I'd get a news credit. Damn!

 

Now all we need is RID. Might pick up Energon being a Rodimus fan.

FINALLY! And being a Rodimus fan this makes me doubly happy. Energon was a poor show and was more eye candy then anything else but it was fun to watch certain episodes. Especially the last 10 eps.

 

Ah, I'll probably pick this up. I bought the Cybertron set, may as well get this one.

 

Now I'll finally get to see the series as a whole and form an opinion!

 

At last I'll get to see the whole story, instead of bits and peices of the first half or so. Energon has the best story, focusing on the battle between the different factions (Autobot, Decepticon, and Alpha Q) and didn't have any annoying kids to steal the spotlight as in the other two shows. Just kicker, who's a big pain, but at least he's just one person and he's got some use.

 

But what about them running out of story half way through and then basically repeating the story twice more over???

 

Even though the series was ok, still going to pick it up. I have Armada, Cybertron, and Galaxy Force. RID I picked up last year from sendit. Headmaster , Victory, and Masterfroce I picked on ebay long time ago. All the non US releases play fine on my computer. Still waiting on my Cybertron replacement disc that I called and left a message. Did anyone talk to a live person? I do have the whole version from a free disc that I got from one of my Cybertron figs but still want it corrected.

 

best out of the unicron trilogy.....but thats not saying much.
